  1. Wonder who your friend is??? My Father worked at Toronto Branch as well till it closed. It was a tight group of guys. Too bad they shut it down.
  2. The interior is in fairly good shape. It's going to be quite a bit of $$$ to get that bunk from out west. I'm working on it. If I can get this one from out west I would be ok with letting the panels from the current bunk go.
  3. Performance equipment which is owned by the Vision truck group is planning on separating their Volvo and Mack dealers is what I've heard. The one dealership is too busy to handle both brands. I was told they were shopping for land down by the old Toronto Mack Branch. They already have a small service/parts only shop down the street from the old Toronto Mack. I doubt what ever is being built will be corporate like before.
  4. Could have used it 8 months ago. Ugh. I'm in the process of switching out the red interior of an exact replica of this one. That one is the right color.
  5. I'm a big believer that the 90-97 CH's were and are excellent trucks. I have owned both R series and CH's and find them comparable in operating cost and reliability. (CH's extra interior room and ride are nice additions too) Most Mack guys on here don't give CH's the respect they deserve. The E7 (PLN) engine was the best version in the CH. Wasn't as big a fan of the E-tech. That's a nice truck Dirtymilkman.
  6. Silver/Grey with blue stripes. I believe they were called "The Phoenix 1000 series" The First 1000 CH's built. I have a line on 1 of 20 Mack CH's built at Oakville assembly in Canada.(Ser#001020) Hoping the guy is willing to give it up.
  7. The front drive axle seem further forward then other DMM's with front drive axles I've seen???
  8. That's pretty cool. I'm just wondering what would be the difference from the F800's that were fairly popular for mixers here in Canada in the 70's? Would it be an F900 or an F800 like the 6 wheel drive mixers? The Pelletiers also had a 6 wheel drive F model tractor in the 70's. Great find.
  9. Yep. VMAC E9 was available in Aus. Long after it was killed in North America. The E9 I was told was killed off due to not meeting emissions. Never made sense though, as there was no new regs between 1998 and 2002??? The last year you could order an E9 was 99 so it could have been built in a 2000 truck. I believe that was when they started switching over to Cummins and deleting the Cat option as well.
  10. There are more differences then just an ECM flash going from a 400 to a 460 or 460XT if I remember correctly. Besides getting the program from Mack you will also need injectors and the Waste gated turbo if I'm not mistaken. I may be missing something here off of the top of my head and I'm sure someone more knowledgeable will fill in the blanks for you soon
  11. Sounds like you just need to deal with another dealer. If money isn't an issue the sky's the limit.
  12. The last of the 90's Superdogs built used the CH fuel tank step brackets built out of Oakville.
  13. Looking at the DPF from a simple point of view, it's purpose is to trap soot, regen it into an ash and pack it away until it is full and needs to be cleaned or replaced new. If your dpf is actually filling up fast and the truck legitimately needs to burn that soot and pack it away (with sensors working properly etc) then you may have an issue of over fueling or a lack of air supply etc, etc. If it's sooting up, go back to your basics of why it's running rich. Our trucks regens happened more frequently when injector issues arose at the same time.
  14. I've had a few of my 08's start showing signs of needing to regen often. With that you could smell a rich diesel burn from t exhaust on an engine with 600,000 miles or less. With those issues present we pulled the injectors t find 1 or 2 fetted(cracked) tips. With all of your symptoms and funky readings there is something else going on. But I've seen where you can have injector issues and other sensor issues etc at the same time.
  15. Cups....and my understanding is that there is no stainless/connical upgrade for MP7's.???
  16. I'd be surprised if it was any faster then a 410:1 Sounds like a nice little unit.
  17. I own a few SCR equipped Macks. They have had a few issues just like every manufacturer. At this point, there isn't an SCR equipped truck in North America that is more then 5 years old. There are small fleet owners in this world that need or wish to keep a truck more then 5 years. Warranty is great to have, trust me I have used it to my advantage as well. I worry about the issues that have yet to come with trucks that are older then 5 years with 2010 equipped emission systems. Maybe in a few years we can revisit the concern realistically instead of optimistically. It's easy to sell big fleets on a fixed cost per mile over a fixed term. I worry for the small fleets or 1 truck customers that may have to purchase these equipped trucks after your customers fleets are done with them and what costly (no longer covered by warranty) issue will pop up.
