  1. Mark, Good luck with the new magazine. There is always something interesting going on in the antique world. Love to see what you have coming out,Tim
  2. This spring when I put my girl back on the road (she's never seen a season of salt).I'm going to remover the intercooler too and give her a good cleaning,Tim
  3. Could you tell me where and who in Vt. owns this great truck. I would love to go see it,Tim
  4. The old frieght shakers had those small windshields and that big dash. It looked like a mole truck. When Consolidated Frieght started building them they were truely the first real road tractor for that time. Driving an old Dimond Reo was different too, the seats were lowin the cab and you felt like a little kid looking over the wheel to see,Tim The new trucks are all plastic and look more like a car than a truck now a days, Tim
  5. Al Hertzog at Mack told me years ago that Mack had to change the resin in the fiber glass for the trucks in the middle east because the camels were eating the fenders. Thanks for the pictures and you guys are doing a great job, Merry Christmas and get home safe too,Tim
  6. I remember Rawson had all R models with Ravens trailer dumps for years. Then with the CT. wieght laws they changed to dump trucks. I think CL's look good as a dump but never got used to that half fender thing Mack thought of with the CH600's and Cl's. In the Putnam area was the first superliner I ever saw on the road. It was black and had a lot of crome back the late 70's and pulled a dump supplying sand to the black top plants in the area,Tim
  7. I think we're all on the same page with frieghtliner. All the years I've been driving I've never drove one I like. Even now my winter job I drive one all over .. ..Can't what till spring when we trade it,Tim
  8. Thanks Deo, I guess what I'm saying is that an E-9 is alot more finicky that a small block and you need to remember that when buying an engine,Tim
  9. Joe believe it or not my truck came from the factory with no pyrometer. I've not installed one yet but most guys up here run low temp thermostats because of our hills and the E-9 builder in the north east kingdom recommends this practice. I bet if I had a pyrometer I'd be down shifting more often. I do clean my radiator weekly too, thanks Tim
  10. Hi guys, before anyone buys an E-9 they really should know the history behind it. It isn't hard to over heat one. I run two 160 degree thermostats in mine to keep it under 180 pulling a hill. You get one hot and it could cost you big money. The big engines are a one man operation, you put someone in a 500 that dosn't watch the gauges and big problems.Just a suggestion Tim
  11. BRAVO!!! Barry BRAVO!!!
  12. Scott, As far as I know you can get a E-9 drop in or short block. The guy in my area who everone goes to for rebiulds put a new crate engine in his dog two years ago for 15,000 dollars. It sounds like alot but cheaper than a new unit,Tim
  13. Very very nice Jim,yov've got a couple nice projects done,Tim
  14. Well I think you need to add it to your collection. You've got the Cruiseliner, I think that a 500 MH would look good parted next to it and a magnum to boot! Tim
  15. Your right Jim, Rt.691 goes right throught my great great grand fathers farm,Tim
  16. Hi everyone, I was in New York today around Potsdam and spotted Santa driving a red and green tri axle granite. He said he was hauling salt so his raindeer would have a treat when they were passing through. He said I've been good and told me where the dot were sitting on rt 11 then he hammered down,Tim
  17. You've got to bring that ride down to Vermont this spring at mud season. Ive got a couple class 4 roads behind the farm,Tim
  18. Rick, love that ford! I found my son a 1979 bronco that should be ready by the time he's 16(6 yrs from now), Tim
  19. That would be pretty cool to see them dig that up. My great great grand father had a Stieger Bear Cat that fell though the floor of an old shed on the farm my great cousin owns in Buckland Ct. They just buried to over back in the old days. Didn't think it was worth anything,Tim
  20. A ran a uclid with a V12 detriot for Pezza construction years ago. That old detriot would really make some noise! Tim
  21. My wife said I should spend as much time polishing her as much as I polish my truck. I told her I give ya a pre trip 3 times a week and she just rolled her eyes and laughed,Tim
  22. No I haven't, I'll look on line. My mack dealer scared me with the price for a new one and then told me he had a hard time locating one Thanks Tim
