  5. A little over twelve years ago on holloween two boys...old enough to know better started a fire in the middle of the covered bridge near my farm and totatly destroyed the bridge. They got caught and said they didn't mean to do it and had to pay some of the money to rebuild it. Like that happened.....Well the bridge got rebiult and looks great but it is not the same. This one has been sprayed with fire proofing.
  6. Not to change the subject but, Nick that's one sweet looking Dodge truck you have. There are a lot of CL's in northern Vt. Logging and grain haulers and low boys.

  14. Man! It's like Melrose place around here.....
  15. Sorry Viiny, Can't find the U. This R model had the most touchy steering. Hard to get used to after driving the U with no Power steering. This R was great in the tight areas of NYC.
  16. Hey Jim, I know what you mean...Vinny, He didnot have any Macks but a lot of other stuff. I'll find more photos.
  17. This is a great thread! Love to see and hear from different places. Those trucks are in awesome shape for the age, wouldn't look like that in New England.
  18. Thank you and your right about all these companies that helped carve this country out. This B42 was owned by a gentleman in New Haven Ct. He had two of the bought new in 1958 as trctors. Bob tailed down to Jersey and had the bodys installed and took very good car of them. He would cover them over with blankets in the garage when they where parked. My son at 4 playing on his new truck.
  19. Thank you guys, This was a few years back and it pays to always ask. I have had people tell me about old equipment but say; "you'll never get it. That old guy is grumpy." Well first of all you can't be in a rush and be pushy with people. I've found listening and showing interest in what these old timers are saying has led me to getting all kinds of interesting stuff and more times than any at a great price. Here is a Farmall H I got for $300.00 a few years back because the old guy liked me.
  20. Here is a R model I drove for Federal paper in the late "80"s. This was in Jeresy City, NJ.
  21. I'll see if it from mill is from I'm my own uncle USA. Here is a photo of a loader from the book Barrows,Bagers and Beavers by my good friend in NZ. It's a Allis Chalmers TL10.
  22. I don't remember the man's name but he had a lot of steam boilers and a Marion steam shovel. I could ask my father inlaw.
  23. Here is my best find I ever had. Happen to pass by a yard sale and they had a lot of old parts and such. I asked where they got all these neat old parts and the woman said from her Fathers farm. I asked if we could go there and we did. Behind the barn half sunk in the ground was this cat 15. I walked over and grabbed the handle. It moved and I was pretty excited. I asked what she wanted for it and she said, that old junk? $50.00 bucks. I couldn't hand it to her fast enough! Got it home and within an hour got it running and drove it around.
  24. Yes I must say that My boy who is now 16 can run anything you throw at him and can drive the Macks like a pro. He maybe looking into the dirt boys in the air force and I think your right, a PC 400 would work better
