Plowed snow for years, really liked working for Mass Electric, 2 days not stop, did all the substations, took naps in the loader, good old days

Left Sun. on the way to Auburn Maine, up to Whited Peterbilt, got to Glade Spring VA. roads got bad so went to bed, next morning made it to Marion Va. finally located driver of plow truck and asked what gives with the NOT plowing the road or salt, he explained that FOX is contracted to some other outfit and they decide when to plow ??? got back on the road made it to WV line again had enough and it started to rain on top of the snow that was still on the road, big 300 mile day. finally made it to Maine and got back home, going back down 81 I saw crews out in the middle of the night fixing all the guardrails that were torn up by all the wrecks, guess it's cheaper to fix the guardrails than plow the road. couple things piss me off about this, I pay taxes to have that road plowed and all I hear about is highway safety, well where in the hell was the highway safety hero when no one was plowing the road ??? if you are not going to plow the road then close it. I grew up in snow so I don't mind it but avoiding the flip flop pajama bottom steering wheel holder going 20 mph gets a little on my nerves. plus I wanted to strangle the plow drivers hanging out at the coffee shop, getting paid and NOT plowing snow???? Somebody in the VA. DOT needs to find a new job and it's not working in the road dept.

I can send you some video of dollies working and put you in touch with the right people, once you go with dollies you won't use anything else, J&B is using there dollie set up right now 200 ton plus, we did a bunch of big gas compressors in OK all on dollies, at 80K per group it does not take many to haul a heavy load, we used mostly 4and 5 groups that will put you up around 500K and scale 400K payload, maybe a little less depending on your beams.

J&B has 10 lines I think, there is 12 lines in MA. Call 617 269 6600 they were going to sell it last time I spoke to them. If you are going to work off road you can't beat one of the old 200/250 Talbert 32 tire trailers, I know of 1 in FL and Brian T. bought ours. don't know if he still has it. If you learn how to use dollies you can move anything a platform will do, and weigh a lot less, great for going over the road, we ran dollies at most the power plants in the south. also less cost to own and operate but you need to have some skill.

Just a question, with the market overloaded with platform trailers already why would invest in something that you can hire cheaper than you can own ?? Are you worried about the big boys back dooring you ?? they will do that anyway. have looked into dollies like Telkamp or Holland ??

There is a Talbert in Mass, was for sale and J&B in OKC has one, it may be for sale also, they started using dollies and I don't use the platform anymore, better weight on dollies than the platform.

But world wide coal fired power plant construction is at a all time high, so every third world nation is building coal plants at record rates and of course not installing any environmental controls like those mandated here. that means that we now pay more for our power, we have destroyed many good paying jobs, even the rail roads are laying people off due to coal shipments going down and the beloved environment is going to be worse off.
