  1. An axle off a tandem bogie can be used as a single drive if attached properly. At least I see no reason it couldn't transfer the torque. It shouldn't have an interaxle diff for sure so preferrably a RR axle.

Another reasonable single drive option on my mind is a half of Neway setup. You just take one axle with Neway brackets and equalizers etc and mount it to your chassis. Not a correctly looking design for a B-model. But correctly looking for a classic Mack truck in general.

There's one more interesting point in that story. Usually axle housings used with Neway have brackets (ears) welded to the housing at the bottom side. So those are not axles which ride on Camelback. But one set of Neway's I could locate locally had axles of the style used with Camelback. There were adapting brackets (actually thick plates with ears welded onto) which were bolted right to where elephant pads use to be. So Camelback style axles were mounted to Neway equalizers and all seemed as factory parts.

  2. Get a nut at any injection line loose. Crank the engine. You you should see fuel pulsating from under the nut. If it's there the plunger in the pump operates. You may check all 8 of them. If no fuel pressure in the injection line there may be a boquette of issues including prime or air or rack locked in the shut-off position or others.

It's in Spout Spring, Va, in Appomattox county. Google said it was only 24 miles from here. I used to live in Appomattox before I moved to Gladys, right after my wife passed away.

The blue dot in the lower left is where I'm at now, the red dot in the upper right is where we're moving to.

Looks like not a great distance to move. I mean things like the smoker and others. And you will still be in the same neighbourhood. The most important point it's also quite close to Winfall for a chance you have a slack day to drive by or check in a grossery shop.

Wish you and Zina (and the dogs) smooth and easy relocation:)

I realize this is an old thread, but I am looking for one of these emblems. In the off chance you still have it...I would be interested.

Watts Mack, the owner of this web site has brand new Econodyne emblem through their on-line store. Not for free though.

  5. That one is way far from being a complete running diesel. From the pics it looked like a long ago parked abandoned gasser the seller wasn't going to take off of the weeds. The price is attractive that's true. But at the moment it's even difficult to figure out what you purchase for the money. Personally I'm not optimistic on it.

  6. Parker sells fittings for old style cooper tubes too. And new tubes could be purchased in a home store. General use is air conditioning I belive. Those you my use in a truck sell in a coil. Straight portions are hard and don't allow to be bent the way you need.

  7. Ok, one of our fellow members PM'd me the pics. I honestly kept hopes that's a tandem truck and in a bit better shape. The matter is shipping would cost me something like 8K. This way it seems more reasonable to not save on the cost of a truck and buy something in better condition. Anyway I will spin a few more thoughts about this example. The cab looks quite solid judjing by the pics.

  8. The guys who I'm familiar with are on Jersey Avenue, near the station and right near the RR crossing. They part out cars, have no relationship to trucking or historical stuff. What they can do for me is accept a truck, take it apart, put in a sea container and than the content of the container reaches Moscow some (very long) way.

I seem needing to install VPN, that would allow me to see some content some folks in my country don't want me to see. Just a bit of headach I lived many months without.

B-70, 707 Gas, Triplex transmission, Garwood winch - does not run, as is where is

The pics don't open for some reason. I met such issue overhere in the past. Sorry.

It really intrigues me since guys who can ship to my place have their yard exactly in New Brunswick NJ.

Also no much matter for me of gas engine since I have EM6-225 which is (my guess) is very similar to 237 and would suit a B-model nice. And one more point I can ship partially or completely disassembled only.

So what I'm looking for in general is a relatively complete truck with solid chassis and good sheet metal. Tandem preferrably though.

  10. When I have the cable broken in a Cruiseliner at the moment I was purchasing it I went to a local home supply store, bought 2 meters of steel cable stock and 2 easy fix clamps. Put that portion of the cable into the original sleeve (it was relatively solid though) and orginized a loop on each end of cable making it a U and clamping. Not a factory style but I got the clutch operational. If really needed I could fabricate quite quality replacement cable tinkering a bit more.

  11. Hi Joey,

I can help you with what you asked on. I rebuilt injectors on my Lanova ED519 and could locate new nozzles for. I don't have the part# handy since I'm on a road at the moment and info you need is in a copybook at home. I hope to be there in a couple of days. You may PM me and remember about your need.

Speaking short procedure of change of nozzles is relatively easy. The same for the crack pressure setting. I have done both myself using a simple stand having about no experience on that before.

Also I too would like to know what truck has the engine you work on?

    Vlad
