Back in the day, my Father would haul a load of cement every now and then on a saturday for Schwerman Trucking. He would say of the B-models, that they were the only Macks that he ever saw, that had Roadrangers in them.

Went to a construction equipment auction locally, mainly to see who once belonged to these '09 KW's, thinking they were local, they were not, they came from an outfit in Kentucky which I could faintly see on the doors (maybe somebody knows of them). There were 10 of them, mated with tri-axle dump trailers, Mac's and Benson's (sold separately), each with 550 Cummins, 18 speeds, all with 50,000 to 60,000 miles on them, all top of the line. The first one went for $83,000, and the rest were $77,500 down to $76,000. They were said to be $144,000 new. There were also 4 2006 Granites tri-axles (325,000 miles average) with Mack 427's and steel dump bodies that went for around $47,000 each.

Recently attended the Carolina Freight Employees Reunion in Cherryville NC and got some photos of the many Macks at the museum, here are just two, a B-67 and H-67. C. Grier Beam was the founder of Carolina Freight.

HK, I hate to get too far off topic, but could this be one of the Brockways that you speak of? I understand this was one of several Cat powered Brockways (origional color) that pulled dump trailers up and down route 22 back in the day.

Many of you, I'm sure, have seen this beauty before at Truckshows in the northeast hooked to a tri-axle 5th wheeler. This is RV ing at it's finest, where "getting there" is more fun than "being there"! This is from the Harford PA show.

Having only driven an occasional CH since 1980 (prior to that mostly 237's and 300's), I lost track of the later Mack engine models. In the 80's they came out with the 300 plus which was used with a 9 spd or more, is that a 300 with a different pump? Also, before my arrival at ABF they had 1987-88 R-models that said Econodyne on the hood, was that a 300 plus? Thanks, John

A friend has a B-75 twin-screw in which he put a 300 Maxidyne in, and still uses the origional triplex. Someone told him that is too much torque for that transmission, is that true?

I remember that tractor from the Lititz show in 2004, where I got this picture. They did a first class job restoring it.

What about the only national freight carrier that has a fleet of Macks, use ABF!

Last winter we started seeing Mack's plowing snow once again for the New York State Highway Dept. in both single axle and twin screw versions. There have been a lot of IHC's and Fords doing the States work since the last R model went out of service. Now more and more County and Town Highway Dept's are buying Mack's thru the State Contract.

Got a photo of one that we used in the city today. In 2001 ABF bought about 500 Volvos with Series 60 Detroits, they were road tractors for three years, about 500,000, then they went in the city, everybody loved them and some still talk about them. 2002 they went back to Mack CH's supposedly because they could not get Volvos with the Detroits. 2003 to Sterlings with Mercedes power and '04 to the Visions. '05, '06 & '07 was all Sterling. Probably if Volvos were cheaper, we would not be seeing 2008 or 2009 Macks.

Here is the one that wandered in to the '08 Lititz Show. I remember thinking this thing is HUGE! I think it was also an automatic...

For my first post, I thought I'd show some photos of my Employers 2008 Pinnacles. After the 2004 Visions went down in flames, I thought I'd never see another Mack in the fleet. There are about 160 2008's and an order of 175 2009's to follow.
