  1. Stuck open, probably why you had fuel coming out the exhaust.
  2. Sounds like dirt/rust got into the injector. Can happen pretty easily.

  6. Highly recommend the oil analysis, it’s basically like getting blood work done for your engine.
  7. You can check your “check valves” by draining the wet tank. If primary and secondary hold they are good. If one of them drains down that one is bad.
  8. Sounds like you need to get your oil pressure up, unfortunately that will pry require what JoeyMack said…

  10. Glad you checked those injectors before really tearing back into it. With the batteries un hooked that long the computer lost its keep alive memory and reset itself. If you had puffs of yellow smoke that’s probably the doc/dpf coming apart and being blown out. Possibly…
  11. Awesome! Def sounded like some bad injector knock. Glad to hear that’s all it was. After treatment system? I thought it was deleted? What was the fix for the injector knock?

  14. Everyone are “parts changers” anymore…There isn’t anything rebuildable these days. It actually takes great skill in diagnosing and changing a part on these newer trucks. I get so tired of hearing that term and the bashing of dealerships, when most dealerships are actually very good. If you want the dash call Bergeys, I can almost bet they will be able to get the part for you. If not they will bend over backwards trying to get it for you.

  18. You could also do a combustion gas test on the cooling system too if you wanted.
  19. Egr valve could be sticking open causing more soot, as it’s a boost leak and it causes a loss of heat which would affect regen. You will need PTT to really look and see what’s going on and do tests. I believe a way to check without is take a hose off the egr piping on the driver side before it goes into the intake manifold. If you feel exhaust coming through when it shouldn’t be like on a cold engine/at idle, it’s open….they do get jammed up so it’s a good possibility and they are operated by the computer to a solenoid with oil pressure. If it’s the cooler you can just take the inlet pipe off the cooler and look for wetness/sludge.
