  1. What size pulley on the water pump?
  2. That check valve makes the pressure. It relieves at 70-80 psi.
  3. Right hand side of the block and between cylinders 3-5.
  4. Sorry to hear about that, id imagine that was your culprit and the leak was pry much worse under load perhaps. Let us know how you make out. This one has my curiosity. Good luck!
  5. Leaking at the trans or the shifter?
  6. Good to know for next time. They are 4k from Mack. Which ours was built by camerota truck parts.
  7. Did you happen to test it hot? Maybe that may make the difference in the leak?
  8. Maybe a couple of small drops of super glue?
  9. Idk if you can zoom in, but if you can you can see there is nothing left of inside the gear.
  10. That was last summer. Just put a new trans in it after talking to the service manager. I was wanting to fix it but I guess he made it sound like a job. That gear would have needed replaced too because it was all grounded down. After stealing the input shaft out of the core for an alignment tool to have I saw how easy it started to come apart. Maybe next time haha.
  11. Ferkd sliding clutch….
  12. So I had this question when an 8LL went out on an RD. It lost 3/7 gear. Would kick out of gear under load. So I called our very reputable Mack dealer (Bergeys) and talked to the service manager. I asked if it was worth rebuilding or just getting a new trans. I also asked what do they do? He said honestly IF I could find someone that knew how to do it and or had the tools it would still be cheaper to get a reman and you still get a much better, most likely 3 year warranty out of it. He then said we just get remans….it’s most cost effective. It was about 3k for a new trans and 3 year warranty….
  13. Head gasket, Cracked head, or egr cooler. Do a combustion gas test on the cooling system.
  14. Worked well for Bill Cosby, so much that starting fluid is now called “Cosby in a can”.
  15. You can buy a truck but not at set price. Basically once the truck is done they tell you price then.
  16. Haha that’s awesome. I’m sure that’s about when cfc came to an end.
  17. I remember Obama doing this to about 700,000 perfectly good vehicles.
  18. He buys these trucks and scraps them for money because nobody wants them. Like he said the engine is only worth its weight in scrap, even when it’s in running condition. So he makes some of these destruction videos because apparently a lot of people enjoy it and it’s makes him a TON of money at the same time, like 67RModel said. I’ll admit im one of the people that as soon as he posts something I watch it and look forward too it. I guess what I was mostly impressed with was how great the condition of the bottom end was after that. He’s done some legit tear downs after a few of these and inspect the parts and see what failed and they are almost always still in really good shape. Tough engines for sure.
  19. Yup, and still are! Plus they had a huge variety of applications. Very versatile engine if ask me.
  20. That one put up the least amount of fight too. His other vid’s he has a hard time killing them. Even when fueling them with ether.
  21. COULD be overflow valve, fuel filter stand, or cups….also a few other things. Too much with these engines.
  22. Your welcome. Let me know how you make out and what you find.
  23. He has a lot of hate for Detroit’s. He destroys almost all of them in different ways. He’s a big cat guy but I will say he knows his shit about them and is a great engine builder from what I have seen in his videos.
