  4. I'm new to this forum and I came here seeking info. My guess about some people is maybe they don't have anything to offer so that's why they don't. There has been a handful of folks posting pics trying to help myself and I certainly appreciate it. Although I have been wrenching for 40 years I've been unfamiliar with Mack and away from Mack for 25 years since I sold my trucks and focused on wrenching so I find this site helpful. As far as politics and political correctness, (THERE IS A TIME AND PLACE FOR EVERYTHING) BMT is the place to discuss old Mack trucks, old trucks and related interests. There are forums available for political views as well as many other interests if one has the desire to express themselves in those areas. MACK The Greatest name in trucks!!!!!!!!!
  5. My email is richbanaszak@yahoo.com if you send a pic there i would really appreciate it Thanks Rich
  6. I have drawn some stripes on a picture that roughly illustrate the stripes I remember from the 80's calendar I'm hoping this jars someones memory keep in mind the stripes would be on a solid background not the two tone I have drawn on

  13. Well I believe the ST denotes six wheel tractor i currently own a 1987 R686ST with a 44k suspension ran the vin past mack to confirm as built oddly I had owned a 1989 R688ST with a 38k suspension both have an e6 350 so not sure what R685,R686, R688 specifically denote
  14. I came of age during the "COLD WAR" it sure is nice to communicate with you about a common interest, too bad all of the world leaders can't figure out the same, how wonderful the world would be if no money was spent on destroying each other but rather on medicine and science to help the people that need it and food for the hungry.
  15. I fully understand the thinking behind keeping it original , that is always my goal on a restoration project. In the U.S. frame splicing is an accepted practice and perfectly legal. With that having been stated if a fabricator can not match the radius then I would have to find an alternative. I have found an R Model completely stripped of its power train and i would like to buy it just to acquire the frame rails but the price is too high and they aren't willing to negotiate.
