  1. This is kinda related so I'll say it.......a friend and I had a conversation the other day and we both said we think one of the biggest problems on our highways today is the invention of the automatic transmission in class 8 trucks. They shouldn't even be allowed. Think about it.......back in the day, you had to have at least a sliver of talent or skill to drive a big rig. If you couldn't shift, then everybody knew, maybe this isn't your thing, or at least you MADE yourself a driver. Now, hire any new comer to the country that can drive a Toyota Prius, has a pulse and can sit upright in a seat and throw 80,000 plus pounds on and away you go! You're a trucker now! Until it all goes terribly wrong when you realize that big rig doesn't stop or handle like your Toyota.
  2. No, I think the big grooves are the grader cutting a ditch for drainage before this happened.
  3. Says he blew a steer tire on driver side? I don't know? But I blew a 425 series balloon tire on the steer of my old 9400 International tri-axle dump loaded in a corner at 55 MPH, blew the hood and fuel tank right off and I just jaked to a stop on the shoulder. But I only had 30 tonne on. But this is a contractor working here that does the ore haul and road maintenance (and they do a crap job with both) and they have that attitude that drivers are a dime a dozen, and they don't fix anything properly.
  4. For all you modeler's out there that always want chassis pics, I tried to get some for you, but it was a little too packed with mud, LOL This is what 100 tonnes gross looks like when it goes into the mud. I floated two excavators there and they had two rotator tow trucks and we couldn't budge it. Next plan is to dig it out more and bring a 349 ex and a D8. Driver was really lucky. The entire driver seat is burried under big chunks of ice and mud, he got pushed out of seat.
  5. They even look like they are smiling, LOL
  6. Just a box blade with cutting edges facing forwards and rear. I'm so sick of winter I took the blower off. I'm sure I'll pay for it this week. LOL
  7. What area is that BobWhite?
  8. Happy Easter everyone. I hear ya on the getting ready for summer Mowerman. Graded the driveway today, then sat on the deck and wished this damn snow would go away already.
  9. No worries! That is 100 times more reliable than ANY new truck you can buy today, LOL
  10. Happy Birthday Vlad. Best wishes.
  11. That B Model dump would be awesome restored all original like that!
  12. Unreal. Yet around here there are still dummies happy to go to work for $70 per hour. Don't seem to be any end to this BS. Same with tractors. On the first of the new year Kubota prices in Canada went up 6 to 10 thousand dollars on every model even though they had NO changes or updates at all. I was in the process of buying an M7060 cab for 66 grand and on the first it went to 72,614 so I cancelled. I'll keep all the stuff I currently have.
  13. Well, last one in 2020, loaded Star 4900 tri-axle dump was $240,000 Canadian. I'm sure they are more than that now post covid. I went to work at a mine after I quit trucking and they got me a new T880 2 years ago for a float tractor. Daycab, no sun visor, no radio, no extra gauges, plain as you could get and they paid $190,000 tax in for it. I think they got ripped off, LOL I read an article a while back from International and they were predicting the death of the owner operator with the next round of emissions laws. They were predicting a tractor will be approaching 280 to 300,000.
  14. Here's two Ontario Canada specs. White one has a steering lift axle and black is a Simard twin steer conversion.
  15. Happy birthday Other dog! I'll have a Crown Royal for ya.
  16. The one that REALLY angers me is you can't even say drag race any more or everyone thinks you are in to cross dressing f@&s NHRA should have sued them all.
  17. I can top you all, LOL Have you ever heard of a "furry"? Apparently some people put on cat ears and tails and think they are cats. Well, the Rainbow District School Board (already sounds gay) in Sudbury Ontario was recently on the news because they put LITTER BOXES in the bathrooms of their schools to accommodate the furries. Send the bomb, I'm done on this world. But interestingly, they banned a parent from coming into the school because she has a registered certified service dog. Unreal.
  18. I saw a farm model builder on Shark Farmer show and he is 3D printing a lot of his tractors and scenery now. That would be cool if more people started doing that. They can make some pretty detailed stuff.
  19. Yes I meant gretta. But yes you can also include Justin Castro Junior. P.S. I am a member of PETA. People Eating Tasty Animals.
  20. Sorry, can't help you with that. But awesome pictures! Thanks for posting.
  21. In the famous words of Buford T. Justice...."I'm gunna kick your momma in the BEEP"
  22. And don't get me started on that little lunatic!!! Another example of why not all people should be allowed to reproduce.
  23. It just gives quicker throttle response and gets it on the turbo faster. I ran an 88 R model with an E6 350, 15 speed and it was a tri-axle dup truck with tri-axle pony. We gross 140,000 here with that combo, max legal in Ontario. With our emissions laws and testing, they had mine shimmed so bad to pass, like I said it was gutless. Big time. But by plugging it off, and later plumbing through the air switch, it made it pull again with those weights because as soon as you got on the throttle it would get up to boost quicker. Yes it would give a puff of black smoke, but not too bad because I didn't just mash it to the floor.
  24. I just looked at the pics. I like how it has "new tires" but it's missing a roof, firewall and floor. And all for 22 grand!! LOL
  25. Here ya go Swishy. https://www.mecum.com/lots/GA0323-554713/1934-kenworth-125-2-ton-truck/
