  1. You love your T880 TJC? Wow. I hate the new one they got me at the mine. I guess maybe they are just not made for off road. I found the old T800's had far less squeaks, rattles and clunks. Bummed me out that they replaced the N14 powered Autocar with that thing. I drove some early 80's C500's and mid 2000 T800's and they all seemed pretty solid and rattle free. My favorites were pre 2000 Mack's and after that my Cat powered 9900i and 5600i Internationals. As much as I LOVE V8 Superliners, I still have to rate the R model as the all time most versatile truck ever made. R's have done everything from long haul, to dump trucks to hauling logs off road, to hauling super load floats. My friend used to haul oversize up to the Yukon all the time with his R. Everything from big mining equipment and Euclids, to crushing plants.
  2. You don't need powerplants. You just need that rectangle in the wall of your house that has 3 holes in it. That will supply all the power you ever need.
  3. I can't wait to see the entire economy fail and collapse when they find out this isn't going to work, LOL
  4. I know most members here are mostly in to old Mack's, but I was curious, if you had to buy a new truck which new emissions engine would you go with? How does the new MP Mack compare to a Cummins as far as reliability? I haven't had a Mack since 2000 (E7460), but as far as the last trucks I ran, when it comes to the choice between Cummins and Detroit DD, I prefer Detroit. Last one I had was a 2020 but now I work as an employee since I gave up trucking and I occasionally run our float truck which has an X15 Performance. I prefer the way the Detroit's feel, run, pull and sound. Plus have had far fewer hard part failures with Detroit than Cummins. But the Cummins seems to have a bit better functioning emission system? At least I've experienced far fewer regen issues with Cummins ISX and X15's than Detroit DD's. Just curious where we would rate the new Volvo Mack's? Since there never seems to be much talk about the new junk.
  5. Man, those bring back so many good memories. There is NOTHING made today that is as nice as those old Mack's....inside or out. Even handling....I've driven through every kind of horrible winter storm and my old R models never did anything to scare you. They just handled so good.....they inspired confidence.
  6. I had several 6.0 Powerstroke diesels. Left stock they can be good. Thus why I think the VT365 International version in medium duty trucks seemed to live no problem. Mine got way better fuel mileage empty and towing than my 07 5.9 Cummins Ram dually. But first thing you need to do.....flush that garbage Motorcraft Gold coolant out. That was the biggest cause of the head gasket failures. The silicates settle out of it over time, then plug the EGR and OIL coolers, which then causes flash boiling in the cylinders and then blown head gasket. I ran Cat extended life coolant in mine. Second, if you program for big power stock, like I did, it will blow up. When it does, stud it, run good coolant and oil and they are a great motor. I also deleted my EGR which really helps. I love the way those V8's sound.
  7. Happy Birthday Joey! Hope you had a good one.
  8. As far as the appliances, no I don't expect new throw away crap to live as long as old. I used to have 30 year old appliances but when they finally died I bought new and now I replace every 5 or so years. I have a friend that used to have his own appliance repair business and he closed it and went trucking. I asked home if he was insane. He said "I can't take the repair business any more with this new stuff. Do you know how hard it is to tell someone that broke the crisper drawer in their fridge you may as well go buy a new fridge because it's cheaper than that drawer." He said everything is throw away junk now.
  9. I haven't had a truck without parking maxi's on both rear axles Bob. Some of my Tri-axle dumps even had them on the lift axle which was nice when you had to park on a hill loaded.
  10. That's a cool pic.
  11. Their product line https://www.terex.com/ The Pick And Carry Cranes are interesting.
  12. Yep, they still have Advance. https://www.terex.com/advance/en/
  13. Their crane web site is still current. So they must have kept that.
  14. I don't think Volvo owns them? I think they just bought the articulated dump truck line? Last I saw Terex does still exist? I think they are just more into the crushing and screening equipment now? Not sure if they still have their crane division or if they sold it off?
  15. Cheers. had mine last night before bed. Had to carry my old washer and dryer up stairs and bring new ones in, so had to kill all my pains, LOL
  16. That's gotta suck Bob! That must be a weird sensation to have to live with. Even worse is the poor people that lost their sense of taste. They say you can't even stand to eat because your brain can't tell what is in your mouth?
  17. I even tried putting orange juice up my nostrils before getting swabbed at work (as they say on internet to show a positive) so I could get paid days off but I still couldn't even show a positive! LOL
  18. I still have all kinds of issues, but I was assuming it was from the vaccine? Because I get tested for covid every second week when I go back to work at the mine and I have never tested positive. I only got first two because the mine mandated it or no job. Now they forgot all about it. Co-worker of mine had a lot of issues too after vaccine and after getting no where here in Canada, he paid to go to a specialist in Michigan and found out he was having an allergic reaction to the vaccine. I'm sure I am too, because I have never been sick.
  19. I wish I could become American. But my wife won't let me marry an American woman. She's kinda funny that way.
  20. Finished my week of watching them crash ore trucks. LOL
  21. You got it Joey!
  22. I'd call it that anyway, even though Trudeau passed a law saying he is going to put me in jail now if I use free speech. Go ahead! Lock me up you piece of crap! LOL
  23. No, May 14.
  24. It's over man. And why I'm so bitter with life now. had to give up the only thing I ever wanted to do....trucking. But I'll never get another one now. Between those prices, the new regs and the new drivers on the road......no thanks. I just saw a listing here in Canada for a USED Pete with a high rise bunk. Said "Heavy Haul Tractor" but it had a Paccar MX510 engine and 40 rears 🤣 But anyway....it had 300 and some thousand miles on it and the crack head was asking $220,000. Bahahahaha. I'll give you $70,000 for it bud. LOL
  25. I know there was never a doubt in my mind.
