  2. yep ur right 57brt .no stupid relay that when it goes out you cant start it.no ecu used to carry spare throttle spring and off yougo and get the work done.if the door panel raddled you tighten the screw with a phillips screw drivernot no push pins that rip out man to be a kid again and drive those r s on a job site.
  3. remember when here in joliet tj lambrecht had all the r models.seen them alot when they expanded the green valleylandfill.hauled alot of clay into there. harrykuhn of west chicago had r models too i think.and i think jack gray of gary ind had alot of brokers with them
  4. i see the pj and strak trucks in joliet all the time.i drive an 05 granite and it aint as sharpe as an r rd or superliner.remember all the r models emil siebert had. thy d pull the hill at 75th st and rt 53 loaded from bc and it would be a smoke fest!
  5. remember all the r models emil siebert had! when they pulle the hill at 75th st and rt 53 it was a smoke fest!

  8. hey guys i drive a05 granite with an ai400 fri the clutch fan stayed on for 18 mi to the pit and back an d the temp gauge said 180 the whole wayonly does it with the air on is the high pressure switch bad? with the air of temp goes to 200 205 fan kicks in and then drops to .like 180. and is that pressure switch in line or on the ac dryer? tks
  9. maybe because its too dependable like the r and rd s and superliner were.in construction that is a killer combo to drive on or offroad.you woild think that would still be a selling point
  10. yea the rd was sharpe.in 02 when my boss was lookin at the new granite at chi mmack they had a red rd loaded!!460 and an 18 speed budds all around tried to get him to get that one .now i think he should have
  11. Hey folks. Iwas wondering if you could tell me when mack switched from the r hood to the rd hood.i know you could get the superliner hood till 93.wehad a 89 wished we kept it but the boss wanted a new one in 02 .i miss my 01 rd tooi was just wondering thanks mackey
  12. my boss wished he kept our 78 r 86 r and 01 rd the 04 and 05 granites run nice but too much plastic and electrical stuff to go wrong.i agree stuff is not made like the r models were .not to last but wear out and buy another .here in the chicago area i see lots of r and superliners runnin every day and im down with electrical issues or pushing coolant .mack of joliet changed the waterpump after we changed the overflow tank from plastic to the alum oneand it still pushrd coolant until i changed the cap on the tank!dont get me started on our mack shop here .chicago mack was our place to go but this shop is closer but anyways im off track.i think volvo with take the money run em into the ground and we ll lose a damn good construction truck but thats my opinion.sure camelback is rough ridin but its good off roadthe 78 had a2 sticl with i think it was the 237it was a small motor but you could get rollinnot a fast ride but it was always ready to go.lets hope for the best for mack

  15. on our 05 granite.it has ai400 since day one it would pump coolant out of the plastic tank.dealer changed the water pump.we put in new stats and put on the steel coolant tank and it still pumps coolant out the tank.any theories?plus sometimes it displays this code s001-08 m128.our dealer didnt know what that code was.our dealer and us kinda have had problems since they put a clutch in one of our other trucks
