I AGREE ABOUT THE EPA ALL THE TRUCK MANUFACTURES ARE JUST TRYING TO BUILD A TRUCK THAT WILL MAKE IT FROM THE FACTORY TO THE DEALER WITH OUT BREAKING DOWN BUT YOUR CUSTOMERS DO NOT WANT TO HEAR WHY THERE LOAD IS NOT THERE THEY DONT CARE IF YOUR NEW TRUCK WILL MAKE ABOUT 3 BREAKDOWNS A MOUNTH AND YOU DONT HAVE THAT RUN ANY MORE ......SO YES GO BUY A DOZEN NEW TRUCKS SEE HOW THAT WORKS OUT FOR YOU

    If you dont like working on Volvo junk all the time why do keep doing it???

    Its simple, wind back the clock, get rid of the new emissions regs and go back to the old polluters..

    Then go back to worse fuel consumption, less GCW,

    Its just not going to happen.. move forward and work with what you have.. and have some faith that not everyone has given up on the Mack brand.

    As much as I see the majority here think the Mack and Volvo is a bad match, what were the alternatives and based on current economic times what might have happened.. The Auto industry in the USA looks mighty shaky..

    again Have faith...

    HOSS ITS LIKE THIS WORST FUEL CONSUMPTION WE HAVE A 97 CH WITH A 427 THAT GETS OVER 7 MPG I KNOW THERE IS NO GOING BACK BUT WHEN YOU COMPARE A TRUCK WITH 2 MILLION MILES ON IT AND A NEW TRUCK AND THE NEW DONT MAKE IT 200 MILES WITH OUT A BREAKDOWN AND THE OLD ONE ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS CHECK THE OIL IM SORRY BUT THE WAY I SEE IT THE ONLY THING A NEW TRUCK HAS TO OFER IS MORE MONEY FOR AL GORE AND I WILL NEVER GIVE UP ON MACK MACK IS MY FAMLY HISTORY SO FAR NEW ISNT BETTER AND IF YOU SAY IT IS ITS BECAUSE YOU DESIGHN THEM AND NOT FIX THEM NEIL MESSERLEY

    And its this History I have in mind when I say re-invent, The New breed product will be a stable long term development platform for the future..

    I HATE TO TELL YOU THIS BUT I WORK THIS VOLVO JUNK ALL THE TIME AND THERE IS NOTHING STABLE ABOUT IT ANY THING THAT DONT WORK ON THE VOLVO PLATFORM THEY PUT IT IN THE MACK

I BOUGHT MY WATER PUMP FROM MY LOCAL TRUCK PARTS STORE IT WAS NOT THAT EXPENCIVE BUT THE CLERINCE BETWEN PUMP AND RAD IS VERY CLOSE I ENDED UP HAVEING TO REMOVE THE RAD TO GET TO SOME VERY TIGHT BOLTS. IF THE OLD ONE IS THUMPING I WOULDNT START IT AGEN IF THE BRING SEZES UP IT MAY PUT THE FAN INTO THE RAD.

    if it is a 673 you can stillget it from mack

I have a 1996 MR 6 wheel ramp with Rockwell disc brakes.....I want to run steel wheels inside and aluminum out side I am trying to find longer inner studs to go further into the longer inner nuts....Mack parts says thay dont excist i cannot belive you coulnt get this truck with aluminum buds from the factory........I personly think it is just the parts guys dont want to do the resherch to find a longer stud any help would be apperaciated thanks :SMOKIE-LFT:

    euclid makes the studs you need some times you dont need them

  6. KELMACK I HAD A CAM PUT INTO MY 01 CX-613 VISION ALSO BACK IN 07. They told me I need to have an overhead run every 100,000 miles however alot of others on here recommend every 50,000. It cost me 6400.00 for the cam bearing kit, new bolts in the exhaust manifold and to have the heads pressure checked and have all the freeze plugs replaced. Warnig make sure they DO NOT REUSE THE BOLTS FOR THE HARMONIC BALANCER/MAIN CRANK PULLEY. A week after I got the truck back the harmonic balancer broke all the bolts and fell off. Now the dealer paid to have me towed and for all parts and labor....GOD BLESS MACK TRUCKS AND NEXTRANS of Birmingham, AL. . However it shouldn't have been necessary.By the way double check that they tighten every thing back and didn't leave any bolts out . I had one bolt missing on an A/C bracket and the air cleaner mount was loose as well as 2 or 3 hose clamps. Good luck. :SMOKIE-LFT:

    I WOULD SUGGEST PUTTING A NEW BALANCER ON THE TRUCK THEY ARE NOT THAT HIGH THEY ARE ONLY GOOD FOR ABOUT 500,000 THE SHOP MAN WILL TELL YOU HES NEVER HEARD OF SUCH THING BUT YOU WILL NOTICE A DIFFERNCE IN THE SMOOTHNESS OF THE ENGINE AND IT WONT BE AS HARD ON YOUR CLUTH

Hi guys,i'm in Lagos Nigeria and about to start a haulage business in Nigeria,found out that Mark trucks really popular here(best they say) and want to start with used mark,the dealers here want me to buy the CH613,its to be used with a flatbed trailer principally for hauling containers from the port to up country,which model would you guys advice me to start with? Road conditions not so good in Nigeria,i'll be buying the trucks from the USA.
    ch is a very good truck a cl is built heavyer if the roads are bad
