B-73 Restoration
85snowdog replied to mattb73lt's topic in Antique and Classic Mack Trucks General Discussion
looks amazing so far. Thanks so much for sharing your progress . -
Believe me...... I couldn't outdo anyone , lol

My 2 cents is 67Rmodel hit the nail on the head. You actually have a good opportunity to finish off your international or some other truck and go to truck shows, tractor pulls, or any spot with Diesel engines and promote yourself. Hand out your post cards and have a nice chat . That way you can judge the customer . lol . We all know the customer we wish we had stayed away from . 😀

front bumper spacers?
85snowdog replied to Tinman22's topic in Exterior, Cab, Accessories and Detailing
Thanks Vlad for the pics and information. I find these little details interesting -
I won't ever have to worry . That kind of green and me will never happen , lol . I don't even play the lottery .
-
lol, I didn't know about it . If I could afford to spend 3.7 million , I would have the covoy truck, Evel Knievel cabover and all the B model dump trucks from the Diehard movie . And still have a couple bucks left ??? maybe 😀

front bumper spacers?
85snowdog replied to Tinman22's topic in Exterior, Cab, Accessories and Detailing
Thanks for the pic Vlad, I found that interesting as well. Do you think the tow pin incorporated in the spring bracket could be an American built thing ? The tow pin set up in my stuff is all added between the frame and bumper . Even the 1977 R700 . They are all Oakville builds though. The model builders will find this little detail interesting . -
front bumper spacers?
85snowdog replied to Tinman22's topic in Exterior, Cab, Accessories and Detailing
I think that was perfect how you did it . And like Vlad said , you don't need the top filler plate the way you did it . Thanks for keeping us up to date on your project. I like following this. -
front bumper spacers?
85snowdog replied to Tinman22's topic in Exterior, Cab, Accessories and Detailing
I have an 88 R688 an a 86 RD688. they both have a 5 inch spacer behind the bumper used for a tow hook . For sure they are both original equipment . They both have air . -
There was a thread on here a loooong time ago about a fella that had clunking noises coming through the drive train, It turned out he had put new tires on one axle only and the mis matched tires were causing a problem with the power divider . I don't think this is the case , just throwing it out there .

I was trying to figure out what was on the lower corner of the dash. After zooming in , it looks like a way to check the oil . Ive never seen that before. Very nice Truck. Just right.
-
Yes they still have them. I don't think they will stop them or all those trucks will end up back in Ottawa again , lol
-
Its still in good shape, runs amazing, hopefully truck shows will return up here . I want to take it to the odd show . The 2 stick 6 speed is pretty rare around here. So its interesting for a lot of folks. Its still on the road so I take it for little tours on quiet days .

I had said the same thing, our guy was just a younger version of yours .
-
Im retired from snowplowing. 2019 was the last year. The county wanted trucks no older than 10 years old. That would have put me into emission bull. There was no way I was signing on for that. My RD ran the same runs for 20 years and never let me down once .

It depends on who you ask if Canada suffered. According to liberals and main stream media , Canada has never seen anything so bad. Heres another video for you to make your own decision . This guy has been there from the beginning , and showed what was really happening on the ground. It's 16 minutes or so , if you don't watch the entire thing , at least watch from 6 minutes to around 8 min. or so. I actually get emotional watching it because main stream media and the liberal government portrayed everyone as racist and terrorist . What is actually happening is the total opposite . It really bothers me that they can lie like that and get away with it . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f6JcL534BIU Ooo........ and no, we don't want Jeraldo. and can I come live in North Carolina? lol . I will bring some cool Macks

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tUYNDBRHvwE You can watch and decide . You expressed yourself very well. I've wanted to reply to this thread but I'm not very good at putting the things that rattle around in my head into words. I'm definitely with you , I really don't like the direction we are going. Maybe you could lead the conservatives , you got my vote , lol

Just for fun, the dimensions of the air filter on my 1987 International ...... Overall width - 3 inches Diameter of inside hole - 1 3/8 inches Thickness - 1 3/8 inches
-
This is the filter my international takes. I never thought, but I could measure its width, depth for you . If its the same size you could cross the Kralinator number over to Napa . Thanks for telling us the filter was there. I was really curious myself.

The show you mean " Heavy rescue 401" based on the 400 series highways in southern Ontario. I actually don't like the show. I see those tow trucks around , and there not all scavengers waiting to go in for the kill. But some of them definitely are. I find it sickening heavy tows racing to an accident. Not because they care about the people in the accident , they want the big $$ tow. Short answer to" is the highway that bad for wrecks" . In any bad weather and due to the quality of truck drivers we have now , I try to avoid that highway as much as I possibly can . To be truthful ..... the 401 scares me , lol As for my snowplow. I used to use it year around and take the harness off in the summer. It doesn't have a 5 th wheel, but I used to pull a tag along trailer behind it. It used to have a dump box on it , but the years of salt rotted it out. So I removed the box and use big concrete blocks as ballast. I didn't need the dump anyway. My job was always to plow only , I never salted or sanded.

I looked through that maintenance manual , it had no info on it other than what I posted. So I went to an even older maintenance manual. I was able to find this . Its interesting to me because I have only seen a couple V8 Macks in my life so I had no idea they had that clip on air filter. My International S series has the same one . I actually didn't know it was supposed to be changed at every oil change .
-
I can't really add anything here. But looking through my Lub and maintenance book there is a note at the bottom of one of the pages that I think should apply to your E9. Its about an air filter element for the compressor . My book is from 1986.
-
What a great idea for a topic. I find it very interesting . Mine is pretty simple . It comes from my 85 Mack RD685, that I call the "Snowdog" . Its name is on the hood.

Thats perfect ! your registration and paperwork should say R611T4533. Thats all. R611 I think ? 250 hp mack engine. Hopefully someone corrects if I'm wrong. T is for tractor designation and your truck was the 3533 r611 built . Hopefully someone smarter than me can fine tune the numbers , lol
