HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM the problem with all of this it all depends on what side of the counter your on
If you owned a shop and spent six hours trying to get to the bottom of a problem would you just let the customer take it away with out paying anything for your time I would think not or worse still if the if you had to pay a mechanic to try and fix a problem in your shop for a customer would you not want to get paid for the mechanics wages of course you would
But if your the customer and and your truck goes into the shop and comes out still not working would you want to pay for it of course you wouldnt
and then if you had a shop and a customer brings in second hand parts and wants you to try and fix their truck using second hand parts and the problem still isnt fixed you wouldnt want to try and use second hand parts to start with and then if it all goes pear shaped you have to deal with the drama of trying explain to the customer why and then give him a bill and a truck back that still isn't right you no the customer is gunna be in a shitty mood , are you then expected to do all this stuffing around and not get paid I think not
I can see it from both sides I can see you feel like you have been screwed but I think if you are honest with your self and you could take a step back the shop has to charge you for something the truck was in their shop getting worked on and they need to get paid for that whether the problem was fixed or not
I guess if you loaded the wrong item on a truck whether its your fault or not and drove 3000 miles and when you get to the other end its not what they wanted you would want to get paid for driving 3000 miles
perhaps before you go down the road any further you might need take half a dozen steps back and try and see it from their side because if you take it to court no one wins ever and perhaps it all might look a bit different if you took a step back and have a long hard think they have got to charge you something for their work
good luck

I guess no one "likes" the same picture posted previously (with most of the people identified) in the Macungie Show thread. I am done...
done now build a bridge or I'll get onto Dr Phil
Children there never happy
Paul

Well it wont be overloaded then and the onus would be in them to prove it was over loaded ??
They will waffle on about how they are experts and have being rebuilding diffs for years and they know whats what and what would you know
I hope you have some sort of weigh bridge tickets which will show that in fact it hasnt been over loaded and then it should be pretty clear cut
They wont just hand the new center over I feel with out a judge getting involved as it will set a precedence for everyone else good luck with it all and right down every conversation or record them on your cell phone

It's moments like these you wished you had recorded the whole thing on your cell phone I always swear I will record it all next time but never do
Good news most of us have been shafted like this at some stage in our life the bad news it will most likely happen to you again before you fall off the perch
Good luck with it all but dont waste time on phone calls anymore write letters and send in registered mail it takes away all the he said she said bull

when you go split the gears just flick switch on the knob and on and off the go pedal and bring it up to the correct revs
300 Mack I would think should be as tough as any other Mack motor of the time they will pull like a freight train lug right down to 1100 rpm fine
Paul
these fellas on here will be waiting for photo's

dunno I have never seen one wouldnt surprise me if was LHD drive WW2 bus and then refurbished and converted to RHD
Paul

Hey hey full floater welcome aboard now you have an R model it will feel like your floating in heaven
how I shift is keep the power on flick it to high or low depends on what your doing going up just on and off noise pedal as long as you let it drop 400 rpm or there abouts it shifts straight in going down same procedure on and off just make sure the revs increase by at least 400 rpm
if you cant get up a hill by splitting only then split the gear other wise drop a full gear drop
if your only lite in weight 80,000 lbs or so just drive it like a 5 speed maybe split 4 and 5 heavier weights might have to split 3,4 and 5
your living the dream now R model with a 12 speed paradise only way it could get any better is if it had a Jake instead of Dynatard
seeya mate

if these torque figures are true and not made up bull shit thats a lot of power 31,000 pound towing thats about 14.5 ton what are you fellas towing ?????????? somebody has got some big horses in a horse float
I was watching the the Top Gear TV show the other night a pommy show about cars and the like and they were say Ford pickup's are the best sellers one is sold every 31 seconds in the States and the chevy/GMC is a dud because they only sell one every 1 minute and 3 seconds WOW thats some pretty impressive sales figures to Dodge never got a mention
The first thing that came to my mind is how can the US car makers be going broke with this many cars been sold ???? something is just not right over in the states at the moment somebody is bull shitting somebody

is it done to keep warm ????? or maybe stop the motor freezing I cant imagine it would be done just for the AC to stay nice and cool would it ??
-
Intresting. I always bumped up my idle when I was sleeping at night and needed A/C or heat. I would set it to about 700 or so....I also kept the fan on so it was always moving fresh air across the engine.
It was more to keep oil press up a little higher...I keep the fan on also to keep it from cycling on/off every few minutes be it the water temp or A/C unit telling it to do so.
This is a 3406E Cat
you sleep with the engine running I have never known anyone to do that in Australia or have I just read this wrong ????

sounds like the governor is worn in the pump but if it is it must be pretty bad or something is loose because most times when you get it off idle they smooth out and only hunt at idle
