Hmmm I seem to remember learning that in the mid to the late 1930's the was a bit of noise in Europe about some sought of fruit loop in Europe that had a big opinion of himself and the rest of world sat back and did SFA it took years and millions lives to sought that mess out
Then 1945 I seem to have heard about a US general who was at Berlin and he seemed to think that they should keep on going and sought out communism right then and there the troops were there the equipment was there but he was told no it took 50 years and whole heap more lives to sought that mess out
So me not been a real smart dumb ass skippy the kangaroo Aussie would seem to think that so much of this crap could be sorted out right at the start rather than let it drag on for ever and costing everyone a whole heap of money and lives neither of which grows on trees but what would I know perhaps there is no votes in it for polliticans

not knowing anything about insurance in the states but in Australia I always work on an agreed value it can save a lot of heart ache if something does go wrong and I always try to be realistic with what I reckon its worth its no good going in cheap to keep the premium down and then have a claim and find out they want to right your pride and joy off because the repairs are to close to the value any way thats what I do

I was just thinking ( I know I shouldnt ) can you just imagine going to Mack today and saying I want 11 trucks got to be able to haul off road for carrying over 100 tons each in minus 60 and they need to flex like this and go thru water this deep oh yeah the boys need to be able to heat them up with a blow torch and no computers at all and we need these in 9 weeks or less !!!
I dont want sell Mack of today short and say they wouldnt but what do you all think gone are the days of not making excuses and just getting the job done

well worth the wait would you believe I searched for a film on this on youtube within the last 12 months and found nothing thanks MHfred for the link
R600 RD600 I now how to put it on to a DVD but Im not sure we are allowed either way you can save it to your computer pretty easy
Perhaps it could be a chance do some sought of fund raiser for some club in the states I dont no maybe DVD and a copy of Vision 386 poster either way a great way to spend fathers day then I had to explaine to the lad and princess what the Dew line is or was and then to the lad what the cold war was
I think the thing that moves me the most or shocks me the most is how we in the western world could just get stuff done imagine trying that today there would ten years of enviromental impact studys followed by greenies chaining them selves to lumps of ice the trucks wouldnt pass some calafornia pollution law and I suppose the hardest thing to find would be blokes to do the work we owe those men and there wives that let them go a lot thanks lads

to me the only simple option is if you had another truck the same you could swap the drive shaft with another truck if the problem shifts the problem is in the drive shaft aside from that maybe a balancer issue maybe the input shaft to the gearbox was damaged or the bearing in the front of the box ? I started typing the needle rollers between the input and out put shafts in the box but then I had a thought !!!!!!!!! they arent spinning when youre in top gear well at least they arent in a Mack box but the input and output shafts are only carried on the bearings at each end when your in top gear so maybe the the those needle bearings between the two shafts help to cancel out the vibration but it cant when your in top gear because they are not spinning as in the shaft is coupled together I dont no if this makes any sense anyway disregard if Im waffling to much

Gudday with out knowing what size ass end you have but I do no that 44000 lbs and 58000 lbs look the same almost from the out side but the bearings and seals are a lot bigger in the 58's the brakes I think are the same size though but I could be wrong I guess the first thing you need to do is find out what size axle's you had and what size you are trying to change to

Anyone else notice the smoke plume from the RH stack shoots straight up while the LH stack plume trails back. Reason?

welcome aboard mate now to show how dumb I am is this an electronic motor or a mechanical injection pump type of motor?
the two things I know for sure
number 1 black smoke is unburnt diesel
number 2 this is always [ as far as I know ] caused by either to much fuel or not enough air
so I suppose I would disconect the air cleaner and go for a drive and see if it still blows smoke if it does well your half way there [ you no its getting to much fuel ]
