  1. When I worked in Fleet Maintenance at Jevic they swore by Power Service- and yes, the red bottle. Cannot ever remember having to thaw out fuel lines on any of the tractors, chilled or heated trailers as long as that was used.
  2. My FD (Bryn Athyn) is located down near Philly. I don't run locally. And why didn't you have lunch or dinner at the BMT Hellertown Truck Stop?
  3. I saw a big Mack tow truck on Pa 309 near Tamaqua Pa. I saw a dog in a car. I saw the girl in the car with him but you don't want to see her. I saw a big B-Model Mack truck and some flags. I saw four 12V278 GM Diesels in the engine room of the ex-USCG Cutter Tamaroa WMEC-166 back when Large and Medium werent so Large and Medium. They were both Smalls. I saw this E-One Titan III airport crash fire rescue truck a while back. In fact I think I remember that I may have driven the thing a coupl'a times. I was young and handsome then. The women loved the uniform and the high and tight haircut. I saw this Nun-in-Training's butt cheek peeking out. I saw the Ghostbusters headed northboung on the Pa Greenstamp between 20 and 31. I saw this 1978 Hahn 1250/750 Firetruck at a farm in Ottsville, Pa. It replaced the 1958 FWD Firetruck. It has one of those silly weedeater engines- with a turbocharger, too. First truck that Hahn built with a turbocharger in fact. The word Hahn is German (or maybe Japanese. I'm not sure.) It translates into "Cock." Here is a picture of a cock next to a cock. I saw the 1958 FWD and the 1978 Hahn parked next to each other at a show back not too long after I bought the FWD. These are my Dalmatians "Tiller" my big male and "Brooklyn" was my female. They both lived good long lives, past 11 years each which is an eternity for a Dalmatian. They were great dogs. This pic is probably summer of 2002 or 2003. I was better looking then, too.
  4. If its a 1250 it's 6"
  5. Most pumps from 1000 up to 1750 for the most part have the same basic case and internals. The GPM increases with the quantity and size of intakes and discharges. Pump gearing and engine size also come into play. So the short answer is yes, they are probably the same. For a better answer, call Gregg Geske at Waterous and have both serial numbers handy. Tell him that Randy, Sam Yardumian's son sent you.
  6. drool drool drool drool drool
  7. Greg, my father's first F-Model (A Hayward with a 300/5-speed) was a single screw- he worked for a trailer broker (CE Danbury) and pulled mostly brand new trailers out of the Trailmobile Factory in West Point, Pa. He always bragged it was the absolute perfect tractor for trailer work. Later on when he got tied up with what was to become Jevic, the single screw had 800,000+ on it and was getting tired- plus he needed twin screws for freight work, so he bought an Allentown F with a 300 Plus and a 10-speed. We were parked across from you a few years ago at Macungie and my Pop fell in love with your toy. Here's a pic of him and Large and Medium with it.
  8. Yes, you and Illiya both visited there, but not the location of my Psychiatrist. But the therapists at this location are not bad.
  9. No, this Psychiatrist is located at 2402 Lehigh Parkway South.
  10. The Dr prescribed new meds and I have been talking to a pshrink about my "issue" with two strokes.
  11. Nothing distresses me more than to see a perfectly good Hayward F-Model ruined by a POS under the cab. I grew up on a Hayward F-Model with a 300 and a 5-speed.
  12. Yes, over near Macungie actually. However their factory store prices SUCK!!!! I do better going through a buddy of mine with a repair business (and thats without the 10% discount....)
  13. WHAT DID YOU SAY? COULDN'T HEAR YOU??????????
  14. Yes they are both Hayward trucks. And whoever put the POS-Model engine in the blue one should be kicked in the balls until he spits blood, and then 5 more times for good measure.
  15. Special thanks to everyone who reached out in here, or through facebook or my phone with offers- a really huge thanks to Mister Mike Yarnall for hooking me and pop up with a set of loaner batteries. Stay tuned folks. I may have some verrrrrry interesting news to report later this week....if the receiver of these loaner batteries cooperates when we install them.
  16. Maybe not in the old days but since the inception of CDL's they are required to have the GVWR just like any commercial vehicle. In fact, it's a commercial vehicle until such time that it is delivered to the purchasing customer. Also, there are some states that require firefighters to have a CDL. Few and far between but they exist. The '58 FWD has the GVWR on the VIN plate on the door. In fact I cannot recall ever having seen a firetruck that doesnt have the GVWR somewhere. Additionally, some states (like Pa) you are not required to have a CDL for a properly registered antique, but you do have to have the proper class endorsement on your non-CDL; therefore the GVWR should be known.
  17. KEVIN: The original design of this truck was VASTLY CHANGED/ALTERED in-house by the FDNY Shops when they converted it to a Foam Pumper. The Museum's original weights when it rolled out of the factory WILL NOT BE THE SAME. Wild guess: Somewhere in the neighborhood of 30-33,000lbs. You really need to run it across a CAT Scale but that doesn't help you now. I will ask some facebook buddies if they know.
  18. Mike we may just take you up on that, thank you!!!! Will call ya.
  19. Anyone willing to loan me and my father two healthy group 34 or group 8D batteries for a week or two? Needed to get a truck running (has been sitting for 5+ years....) We need to get it running and moving to see if we want to pull the trigger on acquiring it or not....But the batteries are flat out dead with no hope of life, and we dont want to spend any money if we're not gonna get the truck. Anyone willing to loan them to us? Myself or my father could come get them. Pretty please???
  20. Don't expect to get anywhere fast. If I remember correctly they are geared for the city and governed at 47-50mph.
  21. Just open the door and drag your feet.
  22. Ex FDNY Engine turned foam pumper? Two Group 8D or two Group 34 batteries should do you. Deka and Interstate are both excellent batteries. Pay the extra money. Don't cheap out on batteries or tires. Ever.
  23. Why do we park on driveways and drive on parkways?

    1. farmer52
