  1. I think its still running around. I see his six wheeler in the winter time. It sounds great when under constant load pushing snow
  2. yep that will do it...dont you love simple fixes!
  3. Now that's a truck!
  4. Ok so we all agree. If you ever had your hand near that intake when the engine was running at hi idle you would feel the suction. Just imagine what it's sucking when the turbo is going to Work.!
  5. Going out on a limb but is it sucking in exhaust?
  6. I think Sals Superliner is perfect for ao OTR truck. now for off road it likely would not make it over a hi curb without tearing up something. Now if he would just put the dog back on the hood!
  7. Brites is still around. Thanks for all these cool old pics.
  8. I see less and less every year but their still is a good handfull running around. the ones left are either on their last leg or the owners have brought them back to life for one more go. Alot of slope nose RD will be seen and a few superliners can be found. With the bad economy many have been sold or are just in hiding. 20 years ago it seamed that Mack was the only truck around. If you had a fleet you bought mack becasue of easy part swap and a strong local dealer network. However In the mid 90s I think Mack got a little cocky with prices and thoughts about their compitetion. When Pete and KW started to show force around here with their "new kind of truck" that cost less, had a bigger cab, air ride everything people started to look at them as a step up. First came the paccar lowboy trucks, then when the dump trucks started wearing out they went with pete tractors. This has been the status for about 15 years now. However many fleets found out quick that these new pete/ KW trucks even if speced very simmilar still did not have the ease of parts swaping like the old macks did. so when one was broke down it was harder to get it going with bone yard parts, regardless of that the fleet numbers have dropped in numbers, 15 years ago a large fleet was 20+ trucks now these same companies just keep 1-2 trucks around and hire out owner operators as its cheeper to pay a guy to bring his truck than to pay for your own to sit when no work is around. Seams that mack is making a comeback but the economy is not helping with growth. I see 2x more macks running around the citys near NY,NJ, LI Trent
  9. Yea never seen the seat skirt before. That's rare...
  10. Just measure from center of front axel to center of tandems. Looks like its over 206" which is what I have, and I would like about 20" more just so when I put a bunk on I have good deck space left.
  11. Would have to find a junk cab and cut it out. Very rare to find a nos panel that was just sitting on a shelf in a garage.
  12. When did the Cadillac burn up? I saw it about 4-5 years ago running thru Chicago..
  13. I have one for a 65 caddy...will that work? Welcome to the zoo!
  14. That's parked next to dans duck truck... Wonder if it's his?
  15. Getting more power is easy, keeping it all bolted together is not so easy. A simple $400 pump re calibration would get you another 75hp-100hp. But your fuel mileage will suck and you would have to feather the throttle As the power would be like a lite switch.. This extra power will stress the pump, injectors, and internals. Not to mention more smoke and higher egt when lugging.
  16. need some new Fuel filters? look there first.....cheap and simple to replace!
  17. New Egypt.... That's where I picked up my 12 speed...
  18. I can't see... Are the head lights on?
  19. Love the red interior...never seen it before...
  20. Lol.... Damm auto correct! Derizen and heil were pretty popular as well... I see a lot of aluminum Mac trailers lately. And Cora's steel trailers they Seam to be knock offs of other popular mfg. See a resemblance? http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=3531147 http://www.truckpaper.com/listingsdetail/detail.aspx?OHID=3863349 One thing that I did with newer end dumps was an air ride with a 1/4 frame. That thing rode so nice. Not as much bucking stable on the dirt. And the bags dumped when the air gate was opened.
  21. Trent Blasco. Let me know who you are, where your from screen name.... ie BMT..... as I might not know you by name.
  22. cant say I see any Palmer but a hilbilt frameless was pretty much the norm for 20 years, Mongoose 1/4 frames are also popular. The hilbilt frameless spring ride was a no frills all business trailer. Easy to maintain and parts were easy to find. Worst issue with them was the ladder style frame on the under side. Rust just eats those tubes and the welds cracks away from the floor.
  23. First truck I ever drove when I was 14. Took it up I-55 then down Cicero ave after the driver said I should try. RS700L 285/6speed, ex Alaska pipe line truck.
