  1. Engine is in the truck still working. Pulls hard .I just have a mechanical e7 with 45000 miles that I purchased from a decomissioned oil field vaccum truck that was kept As a back up in a garage.Hence the very low miles.if not I would be repairing this one.
  2. It's a 1996 .no Jakes .350hp..
  3. It will be sold complete with everything needed to be put back in a truck.fan clutch with fan , turbo aND turbo piping. Etc. .
  4. By the way if anyone wants this engine it will be for sale soon along with ecm.
  5. I have a 2000 model mech e7 engine with less than 45,000 miles that I got for a bargain.I will be installing that and gettin grid of the engine I have now.I was just curious as to whats going on.main concern is that wush wush sound. It kinda sounds like an old hit and miss stationary engine when it's starting.Could it be the sound of compression squeezing past cylinder liner?
  6. So the engine in the rd is on its last leg.On my last post it was agreed that the massive oil consumption was bad valve seals .now using a gallon every 3 days and blowby smokes like hell when going down the freeway.I pulled valve covers today and found a valve spring retainer just sitting there .I checked all valve springs retainers and they all seem to be there. Also felt a wush wush wush sound from the 1 one piston area.Any ideas on what it could be?enine runs even and pulls hard.just using to much oil
  7. That will work great for my application.
  8. That sounds good...engine is a 98 e7 350hp
  9. What about at 1700rpm..I wouldnt like the engine so wound up
  10. It has 11r22.5 but I can switch to 11r24.5 ..
  11. Hey guys..I just got a full camelback suspension for a good price. The ratio is 5.02. I would like to know what ballpark top speed will I get when mated to a t2090..I would be replacing my air bag suspension on my ch for this..thanks Red
  12. Unfortunately these are the times we live in.I remember when I was growing up I would go with my pops to the truck parts store and there would an old timer who knew every part number and would have you out of there in 2 min..Now it take ten for them to just open up their parts catalog. ..and don't even think of showing up without a vin .
  13. I will do that.thanks
  14. Can anyone help in getting a part number for the headlight bucket in the picture.or at least a vin i can give to mack dealer in order for them to order it.thanks Red
  15. So i finally get around to getting these headlight buckets for the truck but my local mack dealer cant pull up the vin in the picture above..they say its missing a number ...but how can that be?
  16. What tube are you referring to?
  17. I Put everything back and ran it at highway speeds ..opened hood and no oil dripping or bathing anything...hopefully it was a one time thing..while installing I noticed the manifold gasket from cylinder 1 and 5 wet .therefore I believe those two were the culprit.i will keep an eye on this and prepare for a head rebuild.
  18. Blow by is not alot.just drips from the breather tube when run hard for a while.im on my way now to yard to put everything back together and will drive it for 20miles to see if under boost the situation changes.
  19. Air filter is two weeks old.so does this mean I gotta tear right in or could it run like this for a while?
  20. And also ..could this be the culprit of the additional oil it's been using lately?and drops out of blowby tube?I don't think is burning it since I don't smell that strong Burt oil smell that yells "overhaul".
  21. Well ...it did run quite some time .so if is put back together it should be OK while under load?if it is possible I would like to run it.this upcoming week is the first in Houston with no heavy rain after the floods and would like to catch up on some overdue jobs.On the other hand I'm not the type to risk additional engine damage.
  22. While at the yard today I was using the air tanks to power some impact guns.I had the engine running at around 1200rpms off the cruise control for like 45 mins. When I go to shut her down I notice the exhaust side of turbo is bathing in oil.Pull turbo off thinking it was shot and to my surprise both outlets of the exhaust manifold were wet with oil.I ran the truck without turbo at around 1200 rpm for 45 seconds and more oil started to wet the inside of the outlet of the manifold.I would like to know what this could be and how to fix it.96 rd 350hp . thanks RED
  23. Where can.i can a monometer test?
  24. Compressor is fairly new and no oil on the air tanks or dryer.im guessing if it is the turbo , I can just simply remove the pipe from compressor to charged air cooler and see the oil if seals are gone?
  25. Well kinda yes and no.i test drove and after seeing how bad the blow by was I asked them to overhaul it .not sure what parts were used .before the overhaul the blowby smoke could be seen from inside the cab when stopped at a light. It also had that burnt oil smell which is very distinctive.
