  1. Bar fight would have been more believable as long as you said you didn't win! LOL
  2. Damn Odog! Next time that "Redhead" tells you to do something, you best pay attention.
  3. I stopped an ask an older gentleman if he would consider selling an old truck. After a lengthy conversation, he said "Do you know how many people stop here and talk and ask to buy that truck every week"? "If I sold that truck, nobody would stop, and I wouldn't have anyone to talk to me." He died the next spring, old house torn down, and truck scrapped, I heard.
  4. Well, I guess I'm not dead yet. I didn't see the truck.
  5. Larry, Hope you made it home safely.
  6. skydawg, At this point, I don't know. Too early to tell. DCW, Sightliners produced from 1957 to 61 or 62.
  7. Skydawg, The day cab is a 1953, RDFC-405. It had a tandem from the factory but previous owner made it a single axle. The day cab is rarer than the sleeper cab or at least you don't see or hear of as many. I've only seen pictures of one or two others in running condition. In 1956, IH changed the design of the truck and lowered the cab by tilting the engine. I've seen pictures of more of them. The sleeper cab is in greater demand.
  8. Terry, Thanks! I Iearned a lot working on that truck. I plan to go back make some changes to it if father time will allow it. This one is a lot better.
  9. I think I need to start buying my gas at Winfall. "Lord have Mercy", as the old saying goes, "Mommy come get your young'n, he's eat'n dirt".
  10. Hijack a thread? What? Who? Me? Interior before and after. Also, I'm over 6 ft. tall.
  11. Yes, that's before and after. That was my first and I had a lot of help. It's pretty tall.
  12. Nice find. Looks to be in a lot better shape than this one.
  13. Who was the fellow from Maine, I think, that moved his whole family to Oz or New Zeeland? Don't remember if he came back stateside or not.
  14. Just spotted this. It even has stacks in the background.
  15. I just took a quick glance at Ebay yesterday and I didn't pay any attention to mounts. I'll have to take a picture of my trucks in a couple of days to see which one to use. Most of them on Ebay have the mounts.
  16. Ebay has all kinds of them, new, and used. Unity has always been my favorite.
  17. And to think we've been paying him out of our pockets for 40 plus years.
  18. He said he would post pictures when he got it home. Maybe he hasn't picked it up yet. I'm anxious to see pictures also.
  19. Bob, She could probably stand a little meat on the bones but as the old saying goes, "Nearer the bone, the sweeter the meat". Ha! I still don't think she's as old as everyone thinks. If you look at the picture of her adjusting her shorts, she appears to be standing in line behind her mom, same color hair and hairstyle. Anyway, it doesn't matter, that's why we say "Different strokes for different Folks", Ha!
  20. I'm at the point where I hear them 24/7. With all the Artillery rounds, Tank rounds, impact hammers, and grinders, used without hearing protection, they sing to me constantly.
