beats me-the other day I got out of high school,got a job,got married,raised a family,now all of a sudden that's history,children are grown,I'm on the back side of 50...wtf?!!

"Dark Side of the Moon" is the best,"Delicate Sound of Thunder" is their best live album,but if you're only gonna get one,"Pulse" is the one to get-it has all the (well,most-it doesn't have "Pigs" on it) best songs,plus the entire "Dark Side of the Moon" on it.That's the concert tour they were on when I saw them at Carter Finley stadium in Raleigh,N.C. in the early 90's. The awesomeness of it defies description,especially the part when the giant inflatable pigs pop out from over the speaker towers during "One of These Days"...So much for today's music review

very true too Kelly-I've known of several instances around here where parents have given their kid a car,for graduation or birthday,or just because they could afford to I guess,and they'll just tear the car all to pieces,dog it to death because they had no appreciation for it in the first place because they never had to work for it or pay for anything.

yeah,that's the part I understand,power and comfort,which I have none of either,and don't drive the mixer near as much as you drive yours. The short trip (little over 20 miles each way) to Toga will almost cook you in the summer. This is my favorite of all the trucks i'ver ever driven- a 2000 W900L w/N14 525hp Cummins,13spd,3.70s. Truck ran great,drove great,pulled strong,never broke down, but Jeff traded it for a P.O.S. Peterbilt w/ a cat engine because it had almost 700,000 lies on it.

Day 2 in the books,Might need to start a journal like a sailor finding new land. Captains Log Day 2: Having a hard time living with this woman, she cooks and cleans, calls me honey, then curses at me. I've yet to figure out how to successfully make her not complain....... Just pullin ya leg.... you don't know how true that is,Mr. Spock! She woofed all the way home from the store the other day when I looked over at the peach tree in the back yard at the house on the corner of Marysville Rd. and 699,just to see if there were any peaches on it. The very,very, attractive blonde that I said had a nice tan on the way to the store,wearing tight blue jeans and a red tank top, had gotten in the car and left while I was putting gas in the truck at the store,and when I looked at the peach tree she said "don't break your neck",insinuating that I was looking for the babe. Of course when I said I knew she wasn't home I was digging myself in deeper. I've never paid any attention to her-even the day she was out there pushing the lawnmower in those cut off short-shorts and tight white tank top,with her long blonde hair in a ponytail. She was on a riding mower yesterday,wearing jeans and a yellow top...but I didn't turn my head when we went by- I hardly noticed. I really don't pay any attention to her at all.

me neither! I keep the mixer parked where I work,at F.L.Moore and Sons trucking,parked outside in the weather. And i'm Tom by the way,I just used a David Gilmour quote for my signature,because it-well,I like it and Pink Floyd's my favorite band-he always says that at the end of a concert. Another myth busted? I'm an old truck driver that never really got into country or bluegrass-not that there's anything wrong with it,I just prefer Pink Floyd,or ZZ Top,or Led Zeppilin,Thorogood,Grand Funk,The Hollies...etc.

very good advice,Paul. When I got the mixer it needed very little work-the main reason I bought it. It was the best looking b-model around here for the price,and the previous owner used to work for the ready mix co. that owned it,and he kept this one to restore himself when they sold all the b-models.

That's exactly what I was looking for,a nice single axle tractor with a duplex,or a triplex would've been fine, something small and easy to drive around in case I wanted to hop in it and drive it to the store...as you can see I ended up with something totally different,something i'd never even thought about-but I like it! good luck in your quest!

yeah,I know lots of kids like that. Some of their parents tell them from the time they're born that they're better than everyone else,they're special,they're wonderful,they're God's gift to the world, and they don't have to do anything around the house ( like work,I mean)then they get into the real world and find out they're none of the above,they're just like everybody else-except they're usually a**holes! At the risk of sounding like an old fogey again-I was driving a Farmall super "C" in the hayfield before I even started school. All I had to do was steer between 2 rows of bales while my daddy and grandfather loaded the wagon,and when we got to the end of the field daddy would step on and turn us around to start up the next row. Nowadays if somebody passed by on the highway and saw something like that they'd make a call on their cell phone to the child protection services,and somebody would in trouble. When I was in high school we'd get home from school and many a time there'd be 2 wagon loads of corn at the barn-i'd unload one,and my older brother would unload the other. With a grain shovel. And we stayed outdoors in the woods and in the creek playing,mama had to practically run us inside,and I had to run my kids outdoors. I must say my nephew Michael ,15 years old,isn't into computers and video games,he's got a job working at school for the summer,and he's restoring a John Deere tractor,and just got a Jeep cj-5 he says he's going to restore too-a hard working little chap,very good!

found this neat looking picture while browsing Hank's truck pictures the other day. Smith's Transfer out of Staunton,Va. had many of these day cab F-models, along with Overnite, UPS, and many more carriers but nowadays it looks really odd!
