  1. close enough, it was actually 8:02 because the bus driver had to stop briefly for a cow standing in the road.
  2. sounds like a great adventure! reminds me of when I was at Sierra Sid's truckstop in Reno in 1979. I hadn't been driving long and it was in April or May, warm enough that I was wearing a T-shirt. A driver parked next to me and we were talking and he told me you couldn't cross Donner Pass without chains. I was like ''what the heck are you talking about? what's Donner Pass? wtf are chains?''. I knew what chains were of course, but around here any snow is long gone by that late in the year, and it was so warm there in Reno it made no sense to me. That was my first experience with the high elevation.
  3. I've got to leave Sunday for Midland City, Al. It's near Dothan. My DOT physical also expires Sunday, so I went to renew it today. Somehow I managed to pass it again, so i'm good for 2 more years. The young girl who took my blood pressure said "now we have to wait 'til we get a room". Meaning an examination room for the doctor of course. So I said ''get a room?!! but we just met, shouldn't we at least go to dinner first?''...yeah, I know-that's the same thing she thought. That's about as funny as a screen door in a submarine. I must be off.
  4. yeah, yeah, that's the same thing I said, only different. Now, if one train leaves St. Louis headed west at 4:15, and another train leaves Denver at 4:30 headed east, what time does the 8 o'clock bus get to the station?
  5. I put 2 of them on mine too,I always leave them turned off when it's setting.
  6. great pictures!
  7. since Rob's not here,i'll take a stab at it-run to the hardware store across the street and grab some bolt cutters and cut the cable as far from the battery as possible. In an emergency you can saw through a battery cable pretty quick with a hack saw. No hardware store across the street? I don't know...run like hell?
  8. Nice! I like that ''Underdog'' wrecker.
  9. I'm still not sure if I can change a tire,i'll have to watch 40 or 50 more times 'til I get the hang of it
  10. is that happier than a monkey on a banana boat,or about the same?
  11. that is so true. that's why I told Beyonce to get lost. She was pretty distraught about it at first, but seems to be doing fairly well now. I think she's finally over me
  12. most kids grow out of that by the time they're 3 or 4 years old, and can't do it anymore-no wonder Rob's so happy!
  13. well then, it's a slang term for ''sunuvabitch!'', but I didn't know if the site censors would let me say ''sunuvabitch!'' or not. Sorry for the confusion. Now if I get banned it'll be all your fault...and I bet you'll miss me. ..did I spell censor wrong? I think I did...but i'm not sure
  14. that is accuratley described-it quit working,the printer,scanner,copier.
  15. oh...that's probably why I couldn't post a picture. by the way,I can not print this valuable info-my ''printer, scanner, copier'' has ceased to function in a usable manner.Geez, you make me do that Rob-I mean the sumbish quit working!
  16. gee...and I said ''plain steel beams'',without mentioning the atomic weight or metallurgical properties of the plain steel beams. I have hauled lots of structural steel too,but don't anymore...don't remember the tensile strength. Here's some bridge girders I hauled.
  17. yeah, I meant to send you the ''Umpire'' deodorant-it's for foul balls
  18. plain steel beams, most of the places we deliver to are fabricators
  19. she probably shouldn't be chewing her toenails anyway
  20. Uhh...when my package gets there, don't open it,just send it back please-I made a mistake, the right guard was for somebody else,I just put the wrong address on it for some reason...
  21. Indeed. I heard Todd talking on the phone last week and the price of the steel beams we haul out of Petersburg is going to increase as of Jan. 1st, so we're probably busy because everybody's ordering steel now. Hard to say what it'll look like after that.
  22. That's certainly the way I felt about my wife. We met in September, married in November (same year) and never had a cross word between us in 20 years. Almost unbelievable, but true.
  23. Merry Christmas to you and yours also
  24. great googly-...never mind,I don't want to appear shallow and two-faced
  25. I might be the only person in the United States that's never watched 'Friends',but i've never seen it.
