    My F

It's quite possible i've seen that truck at some point in time. In the early '80s we'd run 33 and 30 to Chicago all the time. Stopped at the Fort Meyers truckstop in Fort Wayne once in a while, but we used to get fuel at the 76 Truckstop in Wapakoneta every trip. Then they invented the AA Highway and we didn't run that way as much, now I haven't been to Chicago for several years. There was a dump truck fleet of all R-models at Wanatah too, but I can't remember the name.
  4. that's what I always thought.
  5. Penetrating oil probably won't do much good in this case, but far as penetrating oil goes PB Blaster works better than anything i've ever used.
  6. I didn't have any Magnum pictures from truck shows, might try Hank's truck pictures.
  7. Carl is kinda dumb-when the safety department found the gallon of gas in his truck that he was carrying in case it caught fire and told him to get it out of there he should not have dumped it in the fire place!
  8. oh...Swift driver...'nuff said! The gallon of gas still might not be a bad idea though, just in case it did catch fire.
  9. they're talking about the corporate forum.
  10. ain't it? some of the finest boobage i've ever seen!
  11. I think they just use a big adjustable wrench at the shop to tighten them.
  12. ...and putting down dumbass truck drivers
  13. well, the truck was supposed to be ready by 5 o'clock but the Cat place just called and said plan "A" failed and they had to wait for the epoxy to dry, so it'll be in the morning. Epoxy?..musta put Caterpillar J.B.Weld on it. Got a load of lumber sitting at the yard going to Frankfort,Ky. that I was supposed to run tonight.
  14. maybe the driver has not driven an scr truck before and didn't know what it's supposed to do and not supposed to do. I wouldn't know either, so i'm a dumbass too. Guess i'd carry a gallon of gas with me and have all my belongings where I could grab them quickly.
  15. Navistar is also developing their new EGR engine with the C-15 Caterpillar engine as the base, since Cat is out of the heavy truck engine market. They recently purchased some kind of valve technology from Holley (yep, the carb. people) to use on this engine. You're probably right about them burying everyone else when they get this engine on the market.
  16. Yeah, I don't know about all that stuff. I'm just a truck driver, and that's what we used to- I meant, that's what I heard of other drivers doing. Guess that's why it was a good way to get fired. I always went by "don't mess with it if you don't know what you're doing" so I never touched nuthin'.
  17. just taking the cover off the top of the pump and "giving 'er a couple of rounds" (turning the fuel up) will make a 237 go like a scalded dog. Little dab'l do ya'. Used to be a sure fire way to get fired, breaking the seal on a pump. If it's your own truck you'll have to fire yourself if you turn it up.
  18. oh no, this time it's different. they changed the oil and serviced it Friday at our shop and stripped the threads in the oil pan when they took the drain plug out. Said they've had several do that. They're gonna take the oil pan off at Cat and fix it. Jimmy welded the plug in and put some silicone around it and I went to Ohio and back, dripping oil all the way.
  19. raining here,truck's at Caterpillar-the Peterbilt truck-I cain't do anything...guess i'll go to bed.
  20. uhhh...I didn't notice.she could have been standing by the space shuttle and I prolly wouldn't have noticed.
  21. I cropped too much of the picture-she's actually admiring a V8 Superliner, just out of the picture to the left
  22. geez, sure is quiet around here!

    Oil Leak

I'm still running good, busy as the proverbial one legged man in an ass kicking contest. I took treated lumber to Shinnston,W.V. and loaded 2 coils in Yorkville,Oh. going to Clinton,N.C. Then to Dillwyn and onward to Fremont,Ohio. Loaded some Mack truck frame coils in Erie,Mi. going to Roanoke, then I had to leave Friday going to the nucular (George Bush) power plant in Oak Harbor,Ohio to deliver yesterday morning. They serviced the truck and finally put a new fan hub on it before I left. The oil plug stripped the threads out of the oil pan when they took it out, so they put it back in and welded it. It was still dripping oil though, so they put some silicone on it. It was still dripping oil though, so I took an extra gallon with me (already had 2 gallons) and stopped and bought a gallon of Lucas Oil Stabilizer at $32. Didn't need any of it though, it looked worse than it actually was because by the time I got back to Lynchburg it still wasn't halfway down to the "add" line. I left it at the Cat place with a cut out grape juice bottle under it for a drip pan so they can take the pan off tomorrow and put an insert in it and fix it right.
  24. Hi there Daniel, I agree about that V8 Mack sound!
