So, what have you been doing besides goofing off?
I like that show, mainly 'cause it's so close to home, but still a good one. Weren't as many trucks as there was at last year's I don't think.
I liked the Sightliner IH too,as i'd never seen one before except at Hank's truck pictures.

sounds like a 6 speed to me,but i'm not too much up to snuff on the later model mack transmissions myself. As a matter of fact i'm not really up to snuff on anything. If it is a 6 speed, you just shift the one stick from low to hi with the main in first when you start off, then shift the other one on up to 5th.And from what I understand, you can also back up 40 mph...if you want to.

This is not my doing,i've been hacked!

My own version of the "700" club.
Rob
He is proud of you. Here's a secret spy picture taken at the R-700 banquet.
-
If pleased with your progress, you did better than I. This job is nowhere near finished.
Rob
"a few"-that's the key phrse. They're knee deep around here, and still falling. I go from "cut the grass season" to "rake the leaves season" to "shovel the snow season". However,I did get Jo a gas powered leaf blower yesterday too, but I didn't even take it out of the box yet.
Takes care of her Christmas present anyway.

Weeellllllllllll...it IS getting colder out and a winter front is a valid option.
This is the extreme winter front, for the most severe conditions you'll likely encounter this winter.

Think i'm borderline freak...hard to tell.

I raked a few leaves to test my new rake- worked good.

that is funny. they should have signs like this posted-

That plus a paper bag-maybe a double bagger
naw, that's for riding that new 4-wheeler through the brush,so limbs and briars don't smack him in the face.
He did say he saw a double bagger down at the Quik-Stop when he was on a beer run though-he even sent a picture.
-
Looks like Randy had pretty good luck at the hunting camp. Even decided to have this one mounted, instead of eating it like he did all the rest of the game he bagged.

The Mack sure looks nice performing as it should. I guess with that Pete you know as they say, "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I did notice however it was not smoking so I assume it's not running; Again?????? LOL.
Save me a spot in that can as I'll send along something to forward also.
Rob
yes,it was turned off-I was saving fuel oil. I pulled out of the building to tarp after I got loaded and climbed up a bank to take this picture.Came out great,eh? Looks almost like a model. Load was going to Walker muffler in Harrisonburg,Va.
I must say, ever since it came from Cat the last time it's never ran or pulled better. Pulls almost like a 550's sposed to now.
...might be fixin' to come undone!

Not as built originally. The 685 series denoted a 237 Mack engine where the 686 designation called out a 285, (later 300hp) tip turbin charge air cooled engine. This held true through the 1970's.
Rob
oh...disregard my answer.
-
Can someone tell me the difference between a DM685S and a DM686S ? They are both supposed to be 300 horsepower.
1?

Caught this Superliner blowing smoke in N.C. this morning.
And a nice looking Peterbilt in Ohio Monday.
A better view of the B-models in Auburn,Al.
And the change bucket's almost full again-and I'm gonna send it north again.

I've always named my trucks. "Fred" is my IH R-190 crane truck. "Oscar" was my IH S-160. "Hannibal" was my first rollback truck. "Mutt" was my first Mack carrier. "Herbie" was the M43 tank retriever, (used for righting rollovers). "The 51" is Momma's A-40H, "Snuff", (short nosed ugly fucker) is the B-67ST, "Puss" is the 78 RL755LST, (Cat engine). "Riff Raff" is the 74 RL797LST, and "Tugger" is the R612ST. The yellow B61 is just "Yella Dog" and the other B61 is "Agitation". Finally, the 1977 R795. This truck I plan to call "Instigator", or "Half Breed" due to the Detroit engine and Fuller transmission. My mowing tractor's name is "Hercules", the Allis-Chalmers mower is "Alice", the 57 B61 is "Snoopy" as it
is white with black fenders. My "trusty, yet crusty" Dodge even has a name, simply, "The Black".
I really don't have any problems remembering the names. Seems I have to justify my existence around here often and the trucks are spoken of/about regularly in one form or another.
Rob
you should name one "Big Mama". Sags on the right?..hmmmmm...could have been Laurel and Hardy's old truck. This should go away when you get in it. And lastly, a 6 cylinder Mack isn't really that loud with a straight pipe-not the turbocharged ones anyway.

I put Jo's number in just to check it out...looks like she's got some splainin to do.
-
I assume you prefer Tuna that originally lived in the water and not made famous by journalism? I never liked the smell myself.
Rob
oh, absolutely-like Charlie the tuna.
-
Don't lick the swatch after comparing the reading.
Rob
Tuna is my favorite sammich at Subway.
-
There's something very fishy about this story.
yep,appears so.
-
sorry to hear you have to quit the road.
I hope things work out for you and family
Amen to that.
-
Jo seems to think she should get some kind of medal or something because she has to live with me all the time...I, on the other hand, think it's great entertainment,eh?
-
