  1. By popular demand, more Going into the gorge, from Tn. into N.C. on I-40. A cabover KW.
  2. I saw a long and winding road... I took a van load to Charlotte, N.C. one day. I saw this Euclid in Petersburg. Approaching Nucor-Yamato Steel in Blytheville, Ar. And- yes, I even saw a big Mack truck! and, no explanation necessary-
  3. I saw this unit at the truck stop in Grayson, Ky. Looked like that rear lift axle on the boom truck had caught fire, I don't know if it was from hot brakes and leaking seals, or maybe a bearing issue. Anyway, it did a lot of damage to the cab of the crane. Most of it was on the far side that you can't see in the picture. Saw these cars there too. I had a '71 Mercury about like this one time. Same color even. I bought it for the 429 engine that was in it, thinking i'd eventually put it in the '69 F100 I had. A guy that lived in the neighborhood in Appomattox needed a Ford engine and stopped by to see if i'd sell it, so I sold it to him for more than i'd paid for the whole car. I really should have put the car on the road, it was in really good condition and only had just over 100,000 miles on it. I saw the gateway arch too...not in Grayson, Ky, it was in St. Louis. Then I saw the place where the Kansas City Royals play. I saw a big truck in a field- why?..I don't know. I think they should have moved the barricade back a little bit here- by the time you got to it the water was already 9 feets deep. I passed several of these big tractors, pulling these big wagons on 460 east of Blackstone one day. Looked kind of like silage wagons. The black SUV was on a tow bar behind the front one. I don't know what they were or where they were going either.
  4. just a coincidence, i'm sure...
  5. They were just working on the peach not long ago, looked like this then-
  6. Happy birthday.
  7. Yes it is- I was coming from Keystone Fence in Schaefferstown, headed over to rt. 15. Had to go to Thurmont to pick up some bricks, then to Williamsport for more bricks.
  8. ...almost everybody likes boobage...
  9. true that!
  10. Happy birthday.
  11. Happy birthday!
  12. Happy birthday!
  13. No, the skidder was over on Pigeon Run Road, on the other side of Gladys from here. Jo talked to a man that stopped across the road a while back and he told her he was going to fence that land in across the road and put cattle on it. They've pushed all the brush up and sowed oats or something on it, that's all they've done so far. Guess we'll still have to drive 8 miles to Altavista to the Wal Mart store! And I mean to tell you, the heat and humidity has been brutal the last couple of weeks. I'd be soaking wet with sweat every day before 9am- miserable!
  14. I've been in every state in the lower 48 except one, and that's Oregon, and I have to say Montana is the prettiest place i've ever seen.
  15. True that!..especially that "lazy" part, and you left out the "greedy" part.
  16. hmmmmph...out of likes already.
  17. I wondered what was going on when I read comments to your posts, but never saw the post they were commenting on.
  18. Old GMC bus in Madison Heights. A big Mack truck. Log skidder dragging some trees up to the loader in a big cloud of dust.
  19. Oops! Nice scraper machine- Big peach. Peach trees- Big Mack truck. I saw a chain link fence. Three Mile Island power plant in the distance.
  20. I haven't seen much lately...well, I have seen lots of girls in a lot of cars. And this big Mack truck- I took this load of steel to Columbia, S.C. I got so hot untarping the next morning I thought I was going to melt! Saw these units on 321 south of Columbia when I was going to the post getting place in Earhardt. Got so hot down there I thought I was going to melt, while I was being eaten alive by gnats and mosquitoes. I pulled into the little bit of shade under this pecan tree to strap the posts down. Reminds me of when you see 85 cows in the field trying to squeeze into the shade of one cedar tree.
  21. Yeah, i'm out in the woods myself- half way between Altavista and Gladys, but there's a store 2 miles away, and only 8 miles to the Wal Mart in Altavista.
  22. I was misquoted- Actually I said "that meatloaf was the cat's ass". One of my good friends, Larry Wales, who's no longer with us, used that expression a lot. When he said something was "the cat's ass" that meant it was good, so he'd probably say that meatloaf was the cat's ass too. I have never actually tasted the cat's ass either.
