  1. The wiring is likely there however you need to find it all !! there should be to wires and a plug near the clutch pedal for a clutch switch  likely wires in the center consoe marked engine brake and an empty relay slot or 2 in the fuse box and an empty fuse slot for engine brake!

If not its not that big of deal to run wire to run new wire! If it is a manual lever engine

Yes it could,  best I remember, the code is for the VECU not powering down the engine Ecm correctly. And since your replaced the AC EECU with one-off a AI/ETECH it could cause it.

OHHHH Yeah! U Bet it can!

  3. Sounds like they are throwing parts at it with out checking stuff  however many things can cause this ! the engine brake slaves coming apart can cause the engine to smoke more bad injectors can cause it to smoke more  The computer can only tell them so much ! It assumes every thing else is OK  ! unfortunately The program they use is mediocre at best and we tend to rely on it too much !  its a rock and a hard place For you and them as there are so many unwritten scenarios  that cause these to screw up! The best they can is to start with the cheap and easy and work your way thru it ! Did they Check the valve  and engine brake set  ? If not maybe they should!

  4. Could you please explain a little more ! Do you know if the the cam followers Are ceramic or metal?

Earlier engines were equipped with steel rollers that eched the cams is this what is happening? or is it ceramic rollers that are breaking? If the symtom is a chirping sound it could be you have old style lifters and should upgrade to spring loaded push tubes and cearamic rollers

  5. If ya got the money . sure gona need some ! lots of mods Id think! Depending on your engine ! if to have the 460 etec you would definitely have the room However ECUS would have to be synced up bla bla lots to think on! I believe the horse power was limited to 427 for the allison as well!

  6. THE OTHER  Short answer YES ! But Not ALWAYS  However when this happen s  usually the EGR COOLER has failed that 1200 dollars now becomes 3000 dollars ! Are u also loosing coolant? If so the afore mentioned may apply in this case you have two choices Spend the the 3000 grand or cap off the egr coolant and cap off the egr valve and bypass everything! This has been done and the effects  are negligible!

I've been replacing a lot of the AHD (aftertreatment hydrocarbon doser) modules lately because of oil contamination in the air line to the module. The oil contamination causes the shut off valve inside the AHD module to fail. Remove the air line to the module, if there is oil in it you must flush the line, replace the air dryer filter and replace the AHD module air regulator valve (mounted behind the air dryer). Failing to do so will cause the AHD module to fail prematurely.

THis should be on your priority list!

  8. Has possibilities I guess ! Like our Cell phones etc ! where are the solar panels ? I often wondered why cell phones don't incorporate them ?

Same in this instance any advantage would assist in extra miles ! This concept also calls f infrastructure EVERYONE will have to be on the same page! all loading docks every Wall mart   every home depot !  fine to say it 500 miles but if you can't get back ????

Also WHO pays for the infrastructure????? Telsa , Joe blows Trucking  The government? lots of questions unanswered here!

Its a flow/pressure dilemma. Think hydraulic.....Think in terms of flow since you are constantly losing pressure because of escaping flow......... I'd use moderate pressure. The leak will show. By the time you reach 35 your chasing so much air through the open portions of the valve train you will not be able to hear a leak over the hissing inside the engine, unless soaping. Motor initially will turn a little under pressure (till centered in strokes), but some intake valve may stay open. You can manually rotate the motor to minimize loss, you will find sweet spots where intake valves are mostly closed.

If I were doing a full tune package on your engine I would pull the valve rocker shafts + injectors and allow all the valves to close, then pressure test CMCAC circuit. If I see/hear/detect air coming up through the injector nipple bores you know your intake valves are a little sketchy.

WHAT HE SAID! Can hurt to know! :D

  10. Sorry I miss read I had 460 in my head , 32 would be adequate for a 427 are you seeing over thirty on the hard pull is the truck trailing any black smoke while pulling  hard this is a sign of leaks! you do have a high pyro reading how ever if it is coming up to that after a reasonable mount of time your likley ok if it snaps up with in a minute or so Id be checking  for leaks.

    just my opinion!

  11. We have a company running  LNG addon to MP8 here !they seem to be happy with the results (the way I understand it ) The gas subsidizes the diesel around town and flat hyw work and when ya need the serious power the diesel works its magic!  No plugs no tune up BS to contend with !

(We Will see how it goes?  its been in service for 6 months now!)

  12. We always paint mark the teeth These are real easy to get a tooth out  with the hokey way in which  the  cam is marked!

it don't take much at the cam to be a whole lot off at the tip of the gear!
