    No taillights in the bed. Maybe tha was "custom" built part. Or maybe it's the inflame? I wouldn't be surprised if they just painted the windows and just scrapped them down.

    Congrats! Cash in hand in person might change his mind over an offer over the phone. As cfesting said, make sure the wife is within earshot of your discussion. I think if they met you in person and realize the significance of this truck to you, that may sway him. Good luck!

    I think at the time the asking was $8,000? Much more reasonable price now. I hope someone buys it. Looks like a beefy unit.

    For whatever reason I haven't clicked into this yet so to tonight (or should i say morning at 12:15am) I said let's look at some show trucks, I hope there's a lot of pictures. And what do I see? GMC GENERAL! That made my night/morning. Thanks for the pictures. Looks like a lot of sweet iron.

    My shop is there with a black 64 Caddy coupe and a gold 1970 Nova 307 really nice restoration. I have to man the shop so I am not there.

    Last year was my first show there and this year was even better. And I got to walk around the rusty stuff in the back. I was looking forward to that. I missed the photo shoot but managed to see Mackman on his way out and stopped by to say hi to Barry. DCR was on his way out in the mobile estate so i figured i would catch him at the next show. After that, I didn't see anyone else.

    $4500 sounds like a very fair price if its not trashed. Get some better pictures in the day light when you get a chance.

Of course like a fly to a flame and Vinny to a U Model, I went right to the only General there first B Model Rollback This was the U that blew a tire on the Turnpike. He already had a wrecker there or we would have pulled over to offer assistance This was the B81 Dump we had seen cruising on the Turnpike on the way home Loved this B 53 Rollback This thing was beautiful. Love the color combo This is for Mackman This B61 doesn't look that bad. I would have a real serious interest if I had room and extra cash This was cool.     If you have the address the truck is located at, you can find out the owner of the property thru tax records. Just to to the towns website and somewhere you can look up the address to give you their info. Mail a letter to them. That's how I got my General. It's all public record. Good luck

    Here's a teaser picture. On the way back home the single axle U model was on the side of the Turnpike with a blown left steer tire and the green b81 dump was tooling in the slow lane. Awesome show.

    Apparently my statement was taken in the wrong way. Once you buy it its yours to do what you want with it. I've seen cars that sat for 60+ years get road worthy but maintain their patina. The best example of this was the flooded 1911 Oldsmobile that was in the Swigart museum in PA. The car stayed in a static display for 50+ years with tires that were disintegrated. The new buyer (at $1.65m) got the car running keeping as many factory installed pieces as possible and put new wheels and NOS tires purchased in the 60's on the car while keeping the originals. It was then displayed at Pebble Beach and the owner has used it sparingly. The thing about this hobby is everyone has their idea of what they want but the most important thing is to preserve old iron. They can only be original once. The best thing is all of these cars went to new homes and they live on and not get crushed.

    I'll be taking lots if pictures tomorrow and will be posting them either Sunday or Monday.

    Terry, the whole point is NOT to restore that car. It's worth more money as it sits over cleaning it up. Decent Pace Cars can be had for $12,000-15,000 that you can drive. Something like this is going to be a static display in a collection or museum for the rest if its life.

    I am going to do my best to show up by noon for the pic on Saturday. I hope the Vet takes the blood sample first thing when we get there. Then the mad dash to Lititz.
