  1. There's a lot of wisdom there. I would not want to be 30 years younger NOW...but I do wish it was 30 years ago! Or 40! LOL!
  2. Don't we all?
  3. Great stuff...
  4. I don't doubt it. I mean, they did release that ad with the mirrors turned that way. But, if you follow the "dog forward" rule, they are backwards. I keep hoping that whoever posted the official Dog Rules from that earlier thread will post them again here.
  5. I can't remember who posted it, but someone (a while back) posted Mack's "o-fficial" guide to bulldog emblem placement on vehicles. I can't find that old thread! Maybe whoever posted it will remind me. But, I was thinking about 1 particular section that said the dogs should face forward if placed on the side of the truck. So, the dogs on the mirrors should face inward toward each other, so that (when viewed from the side) they would be facing "forward and inward". If they face outward away from each other, (when viewed from the side) they would be facing "rearward and outward". We don't want our pet bulldogs backing down the road! A couple of examples off the web... Correct... Incorrect...
  6. I got curious again about the trucks used in this series. I could have sworn I saw a gold hood ornament on one of them. So, I went back and watched again. I DID see a gold emblem in a few shots. That makes it a '73. But, the VIT didn't come out till '74. So, it is possible that a '73 was "upgraded" to '74 status and used alongside a real '74. I also found a bunch of people who had posted information about the differences between the '74 and '75 models. And, it does appear there were quite a few trucks used over the course of the show. The link below has some of the best information I have found. There were a couple more that had interesting facts, like different locations of badges and antennas and different air intake piping between the different years. Looks like there were 2 '74s, a '73, and a '75 used routinely. There was also the '73 in the pilot episode (quite different) and a '76 used in 1 episode (different color). Some of the information I found comes from what appear to be credible sources. And, some of those guys really know their KWs. So, I am inclined to believe them (especially Sagehorn!). One even gave the VINs of the 2 '74s. For what it's worth... https://www.imcdb.org/v042128.html
  7. Did you ever get any farther on this?
  8. Tried it this morning and it looks to be working correctly. Thanks for the prompt attention!
  9. Yes. I tried it at home, and I still get that message.
  10. The button between "garage" and "clubs" at the top of the page...
  11. Is anybody else having trouble opening posts of the BMT wiki? I get some message that says to run a support tool in adminCP to restore the default theme. Does the same thing using a half dozen different browsers.
  12. Is it possible to disconnect the wiring going to the fan clutch to see if the problem is electrical or mechanical? If the fan stays locked with no power, maybe the fan clutch is bad. If it unlocks when the wiring is removed, then it is getting a signal to lock...for some reason. Just trying to separate the problem into 2 smaller parts for you. Not really familiar with that particular piece.
  13. ...and then came the rakes...
  14. Military called 'em "Rome Plows". Some folks call 'em "Shear Blades". We called 'em "Cutter Blades" (or "K/G Cutters" to differentiate them from "Vee Cutters"). I sure wish we'd had camera phones back then!
  15. I know what you mean! Some of the stuff I used to think was ugly looks pretty cool now. Maybe it is just that it looks so much better than the stuff we have now? Or, maybe it's just that it takes you back to an earlier time? Either way, I am finding new interest in old stuff.
  16. The GMC B-series looked very similar, didn't it? Found this on on the web.
  17. Here is some interesting reading. Patent on what may be the first detachable gooseneck lowboy trailer. https://patents.google.com/patent/US2967720?oq=detachable+gooseneckgoogle.com
  18. Ha-ha-ha! No, we just refer to them as "the little one" and "the big one". The "big" one is a good inch taller. But, sure enough, whatever color one is wearing, the other one will wear a different color or die! I hadn't even noticed those matching shirts! Good catch!
  19. Like this one off the internet???
  20. Here's a picture off the internet that someone posted of an old Ford N-Series. Anybody remember driving one of these? I never drove one, but I used to see a lot of them around home, back when the world was young and so was I... I never could figure out if they were a thing of beauty, or if they were...uhhh..."aesthetically challenged". But they sure had a tough look to them.
  21. The twin grandsons at Brad's show, checking out the B.J. & the Bear truck...
