  1. The 16th Annual Brockway Truck show is coming up this weekend, Aug 6-9. If you are interested in coming up for one day, Saturday is the day. My Dad's truck was fortunate enough to be picked as the Truckers Choice last year so it was used for the posters and dash plaques. If you are able to attend make sure you stop by and say hello...
  2. Hi Freightrain... It looks like he was able to salvage the bearings from another column. But I believe you are correct, the steering wheel tightens against a spring which in turn preloads the bearing and keeps tension on it. Tom
  3. Does anyone know if steering column bearings are still available for B models? I have a friend restoring one now and he need to replace the bearings in the steering column. I believe they are called radial / thrust (or axial) bearings. Here is a pic... The ID is 1.00" and the OD is 1.665". There are no markings on the bearing. When I made a new column for my Dad's 361 Brockway, the bearings were NICE 515. They have the same ID but our OD was 2.00" Any help would be appreciated! Thanks, Tom
  4. Hi Sam... I found the clutch fork you need. You can PM me for more info. I tried sending you an email through the Brockway message board, not sure if it went through. Tom
  5. Hi guys... That is a 1954 147WL... I actually bid on that truck on eBay about 14 years ago. Here is a link that I posted over on the Brockway site last year. http://www.brockwaytrucks.org/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=4364 At first look I would think its a 1955 or 1956 based on the 'B' on the grill guard but in the truck paper it was listed as a 1954. If you have any other questions, just let me know... As for the cab windows, it depended on the model. Some had them, some didn't. Tom
  6. Hi Bigdogtrucker... Are you close to the 358 Brockway? I'm just curious what the serial number is. The (2) earliest 358's we have on record are serial numbers 64048 and 64315. You mention the 200 series dash, so is the speedometer in the middle of the dash or over the steering column? Thanks, Tom
  7. I believe the truck is still available...
  8. That truck is located near me and I don't believe it's for sale...
  9. Here is a link to some additional pictures of the Brockway prototype... http://www.brockwaytrucks.org/messageboard/viewtopic.php?p=9481 In the Brockway museum, on the upper level, there are a dozen sketches displayed of this prototype that were donated by the original artist...
  10. Careful Maddog!!! I happen to know the Brockway guy who put Bondo on his fifth wheel plate!! And he may be at Macungie!! Tom
  11. Where did you get the LED's to retrofit to old incandescent lamps? I would like to convert a pair of round Signalstats...
  12. Hi Mark, sorry, i only have digital copies of those ads, no hard copies... Tom
  13. Tony Masone, a good friend of the folks over on the Brockway message board, passed away unexpectedly a few weeks ago. Tony just finished restoring a 358 Brockway in Florida and his wife Terry is asking for some help selling the truck. So I am trying to help out by posting information on the truck. Tony did a great job documenting his restoration on the Brockway message board and I have included the link below. So here is the info.... The truck is a 1970 N358T-22-70959 and has a 220 Cummins with a 5 speed trans and a 2 speed rear. Tony bought the truck in August of 2010 from Brian Mann (I believe from NJ) and here is what he started with... Here is a link to the thread when Tony bought the truck... http://www.brockwaytrucks.org/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2220&hilit=n358t Tony had the truck shipped to Florida and shortly after getting the truck he tore right into the truck and started his restoration. Here is a link to his restoration thread... http://www.brockwaytrucks.org/messageboard/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=2272&hilit=masone Besides just body and paint, Tony also added Sheppard power steering which was donated from another Brockway, a short sleeper and a flatbead. I believe his original intention was to drive it from Florida to Cortland for the annual Brockway show. He did not tie the sleeper into the cab, so it can easily be removed if desired. Here is a video of him taking it for a ride... And here are some 'finished' pics... Tony was originally asking $12,500 for the truck but Terry is now asking $10,000. Tony's son, Tony Jr. will be the point of contact. His number is 321-693-8669 and his email is tmasone@gmail.com. I will also help out however possible with questions, etc...
  14. What a great pic! I don't know if you noticed it, but both of those Brockways, the 761 and the 361 were Huskidrive trucks... Notice the double dogs on the grills! 700 Huskidrive's were fairly rare. Hope you don't mind Mark but I shared this pic on the Brockway message board... Tom
  15. If anyone has any other DeFazio pics (besides the ones on Hanks Trucks), I would love to see them...
  16. They were at Boots and Hanks off of Keyser Avenue in Scranton about two years ago. They may still be there... When it dries up a little I am going to take a ride down at lunch to see if they're still there. If you're in the Lehigh Valley you're not too far...
  17. Thanks for the info... I looked at 3 MB's a while back in the junk yard and that had 22" wheels also...
  18. I'm looking for a 20" diameter steering wheel to replace my factory 22" wheel. This is the 3 spoke plastic Sheller type wheel with the 4" hub and the 1" diameter shaft. I believe they may been been used in MB models? Any color or condition would be considered... Thanks, Tom
  19. Here are two progress pics of our dash... We trial fit the dash over the weekend...
  20. I am in the process of restoring a 1970 E361T Brockway for my Dad and have been working on the dash lately. My Dad seems to remember that years ago Mack used a round chrome knob that read "Engine Stop", similar to the Hot Water Control valve knob. He believes they were either in B model or possibly an R model. Can anybody verify this for me? Any help would be appreciate...
  21. LL stood for tandem axle cargo or straight job... Here is a chart of the suffixes Brockway used... T = Single Axle Tractor L = Single Axle Cargo or Straight LF = Tandem Axle LL = Tandem Axle Cargo or Straight LLL = Tri Axle Cargo or Straight LQ = Tandem Axle TL = Tandem Axle Tractor LFOH = Off Highway LROH = Off Highway
  22. Thanks guys... This was the post I was looking for. Does anyone know which issue the Joyce Mandel pics originally came from? The Brockway H360 in the pics is 1 of the 5 LL's that were sold by D and H of Dearborn MI and only 6 were built. A friend of mine ones one of 5 and would love to find a copy of the original magazine. Thanks... Tom
  23. A while back someone post some scans of some girls posed on Brockways that were in either Overdrive Magazine or Owner Operator Magazine. Does anyone else remember that post? I tried to search here the best I could with no luck. Thanks, Tom
  24. The wife of one of the guys I work with grew up a few houses from the crash. From what she explained there wasn't much of the truck left...
