I have taken a couple apart and got the rust out and squeezed it back. Used some heat, a vice and various screwdrivers etc... I only opened it up enough to knock out the rust/dirt and free it up. I think if you are careful you could get it opened up and fixed. The hard part would be finding the repair parts if it was actually rust through and not needing to be just freed up. The first primer was a sealer primer? And the flex agent was used because you top coated correct?

So it will be green and yellow?

I would use either style assuming both were rated for oil, that would be my only concern.
