I remember the day we got a phone installed it was a party line so you had to wait to get to use it and I can just remember getting a black and white tv with the rabbit ears for years until the satellite tv came through we got two channels and some days not even them. I was raised by my grandmother and my one aunt there wasn't much money for extras it was really something to celebrate if I got given a Hersey's bar. I took a bath in the kitchen in a big tub we had cold water from the one sink a wringer washer and no indoor bathroom it was out back. I really like indoor plumbing we heated the water on the coal cooking stove.

Y’all got me thinking about my old office phone, I found a picture of it, just to show how tough they were, the flood washed my desk through the wall, I kept the old phone setting on top just for sentimental value, if you look closely it never moved!, I brought it to my shed during the cleaning. and just to stay on topic, my ash tray full of Dogs , long ear and a couple short ears.

Dean, God was looking over you shoulder during that Hurricane!!!! Even though your son lost his house and you lost a lot of things I can see that He saved a lot or irreplaceable items for you.. I hope you have many of the saved pictures in a album.. Looking forward to talking with you at Dacusville.

Yes Brocky we were Blessed to all come through the Hurricane safely. Lucky my photo album was at my house and most of my Dads pictures were hanging high on the wall, I had a few LJ manuals get wet, and a whole cabinet full of Mack , Cat , Cummins, Detroit manuals 40 years of collecting, swept completely away,,, God knew I needed to stop working on trucks and just enjoy them and life .
