Cruiseliner front axle...

Hi all,we are trying to identify our front axle.We dont know what weight its rated for or what toqure the wheel bearing nut are.any help would be great.The pics show the only numbers we can find on the axle.Thanks for reading..

On axle nuts, I used to preload them at 200 lbft, back the nut off, and then go to 50 lbft, and move the nut according to lining up the holes for the cotter pin. Many times having to back the nut off a small amount.

Many thanks for the info guys,I knew you guys would have the answer.We would be lost only for this site.Does anyone know what weight the axle is rated for? I do know its heavy duty but would love to know it's design load....

82 Cruiseliner with 1200/24 tyres.It was plated for 160,000 lb in the UK...

Yeah she was built for heavy haul operations.I was told Mack designed it for up to 300,000 lbs.Dont know how true that is but I do know her first job was hauling 200,000 lb beams for a motorway (freeway in the US) bridge project in the UK....

Many thanks for that info.18,000lb would seem to fit the build of this Cruiseliner.Would Meritor have made this axle or just supply after market parts?
