Ever wonder where the  Duramax ideas came from ?

Duramax was a joint venture between GM and Isuzu. Those guys been using 90 degree V8s a while.

The first Duramax was an 7.8 inline 6 to test common rail on a mass scale. Can't find much info on the 7.8 but we got them here in box trucks and such. 

All I know is that Mitsubishi V8s sounded sweet!
