2012 Mack CHU no-start, electrical problem?

Recommended Posts

This truck will not start. It can be jump-started, but will not turn over when cranked. Think it may be a combination of issues, but we took out the entire wire harness and checked all the wires, everything is fine there. Truck shows a couple fault codes, but will not let me read the fault codes for the engine for some reason. I can read the other ones.

Using the stalk switch on the right side of the steering column. Go through the display screen till you see “Trip Info “.  Enter into the Trip Info and you will see Trip1 and Trip2 and engine hours. Go into Engine Hours . If all you see is dashes then the Engine ECM is not  powering up . Possibly bad engine ecm or low voltage/bad ground to the engine ecm .

Protects the starter from overheating. If the eecu sees excessive crank time it knocks off the ground circuit for the starter relay for about 30 seconds.

Yup this safety feature  proudly presented by Volvo to preserve the starter for after the injector cup jobs!😂
