65k rear torque spec

Recommended Posts

I have what I believe to be 1985-88 65k rears that I am doing the brakes.  My question is....  Any one familiar with the hub torque spec.  It had the single clamp nut see pictures.

The service manual that I checked doesn't list a torque spec for the clamp bolt or the lock screw.  I would use a torque spec based on size, tpi and the grade stamp of the fastener.

Looks like 3/8" bolt.  Something in the 30-35 ft/lb range should suffice.

Also important is probably safety wire. Haven't worked on this style in a few years, forget if it uses safety wire.
