There is a salt system softener on it. Problem is that the salt deposits leave a mess if not wiped down quickly. Dirtymilkman Posted May 3, 2018 Share Posted May 3, 2018 If you have salt deposits from your water, your system isn't working. The salt is only for flushing the mineral bed clean. Rob Posted May 3, 2018 Share Posted May 3, 2018 You probably have a high concentration of TDS, (total disolved solids) and although the water is soft, it needs additional filtration to strip these from the water supply. A 5 micron final filter will do this but plug quickly. I would put a 50 micron, followed by a 10 micron, followed by a 5 micron to plug the larger and less expensive first. A 5 micron will remove color from water and all but trace minerals.
