Timmyb Posted May 23, 2014 Share Posted May 23, 2014 You can buy these black box looking things on the net. They have "audio amp" wrote on the side. It plugs between the speed sensor on the back of the gear box and the computer and changes the pulses. Not sure if they work on mack but my brothers use them on cat and cummins. You can adjust the dial so your trip computer will show up what ever speed you like, for when Mr police man wants to plug in to your rig. I still dont really know what your looking for here, the max speed is set in the ecm and if it has the anti tamper on if you mess witht he speed sensor it will go into limp mode. jnr_ate Posted May 25, 2014 Author Share Posted May 25, 2014 correct, but the ECM only knows what the gearbox output speed sensor tells it, so modifying it's "pulse" to be slower than the standard 16 or 14 tooth pulse wheel at normal operation will allow you to trick it. using a gps for true speed after that is all you need. rsb502 Posted May 27, 2014 Share Posted May 27, 2014 If that works on a Mack i say go for it, the detroits we had a company I used to work for had the gear ratio programmed in the ecm and if the road speed vs rpm didnt add up to within a certain tolerance it would pop a code and go into limp if anti tamper was turned on.
