same here Bob. when i started driving, almost all the heavy shovels in the quarries were high voltage electric cable.

there was one sand pit that still had a few steam shovels, and steam powerplant to supply the "newer" electric shovels.

Oh forgot to mention,,, right around that time was the first time I heard steam shovel and I think it was my grandma that said it…. Bob
