Superdog Posted August 2, 2010 Share Posted August 2, 2010 Only way you'll be able to get the info on the transmission would be to have your dealer or the Mack Museum to run the number and get the build sheet.Only the engine can be decoded from just reading the VIN. I drove a '79 RWS712LST for a few years and that truck was built in Hayward, CA. It was a real party to get parts for.
