  1. Anderson had a pretty lackluster year in terms of milling and paving. We spent a lot of time running dirt out of that Richmond Street job. Every time I see any H&K trucks in our yard waiting for asphalt, the drivers are always painting their wheels lol
  2. I learned that when I started that Philly construction thread. I was thinking I was gonna see some nice old trucks from days past, but it seems like the 86 I drive is among the oldest in Philly lol
  3. It's a lot more than that! We had a DOT meeting a few months ago and if I remember correctly, first offense in a CMV is $2600 and second offense is $26,000. I might be wrong though. It is also a "primary stop" meaning truck enforcement can stop you just for having a phone out. They always hang out in front of Anderson's yard on Allegheny and nail people all day.
  4. More Anderson stuff. T-601 tractor. The ugliest truck in the fleet. T-134. Complete with "construction" misspelled on the door.
  5. Was working with him today, he's doing great. I'll tell him you said hello!
  6. Just took this right now. It's the Richmond street/95 expansion project.
  7. The Durkin stuff is awesome. I remember seeing those trucks around when I was a little kid!
  8. This truck was on a job I worked at the Sunoco refinery last year, but I couldn't get a closeup.
  9. Hope that worked. That's my daily ride. Anderson T-135. I gotta try to snag a pic of D'Angelo's steel fendered triaxle. Keep it rolling!
  10. I see there's a New York and a Connecticut thread. I'm curious to see if anyone has some old pictures or stories from in and around Philly. I'm just in the mood for a history lesson.
  11. We have an old R600 and a Superliner that both have 12 speeds in them. I'd love to get to drive them some day.
  12. The first truck I learned on was a 6 speed 2 stick. I prefer it over the 2070 by far. We do a lot of work in center city Philly where you need low end grunt, and the trucks with the 2070s are a pain, especially on hills.
  13. I'm the youngest driver at my company and we have a bunch of newer trucks. People look at me like I'm crazy when they see me cleaning up my old 86 lol
  14. Hahah I was asking for that. Both trucks in question are Tri-axles. The 690s have T2070 maxi torques and the 686sx's have the 5 speed two stick. I gotta check the door tags to see what the rears are on the 690's are, because they're definitely different (flat axle cover and more squarish spokes). The 690s also have eaton air lockers, but I guess they can be aftermarket? So basically the only thing different was engine, trans, and rears. Thanks for the info. I'm only 24 but I like to learn about the old stuff I get to drive.
  15. Between a 1986 rd686sx and a 1988 rd690s? My work has a few of each type and I'm just curious of the differences. Oh, and don't say 2 years
  16. What's the info on that orange truck with the squarish chrome grille that's right about the green B model? That thing is sharp.
  17. Awesome info, I'm gonna pull up the floor mat tomorrow morning an take a look at the holes. The mechanic did put a new base in along with the seat, and no part of the seat touches the bak panel as it is now. However, the back panel IS worn, so an older seat did touch it. The truck has the large diameter wheel in it, and it's as far forward as it can go. Believe me, I've pushed on it in a fit of rage while trying to force the seat back lol. Thanks for the tips!
  18. 96 RD686sx with a stock Bostrom frame and a Mack vinyl seat. It's a company truck, and when I was put in it, it had a broken seat that was replaced with a stock set up. Now it seems like the seat won't slide all the way back on the track. Im 6'2 250 and the way the seat is now, my knee hits the turn signal if I run any air in the seat. It just seems like the cab space is smaller. Wtf? The old 86 rmodel I drove was alot more comfortable than this thing. As of now, I have bungee cords wrapped around the seat frame holding the seat all the way back in the track, but isn't locked. This surely can't be "just the way it is", could it? I wanna get some ideas of what to do with this thing so I can be comfortable driving again.
