  1. The N was built as a tandem. All N's were built with dual headlights and the trim panel between them. The Mack emblem on the front is the same emblem that was used on C, G and W models. They are considerably different than the B/H emblem. The Mack scripts on the side were amaller than standard. These Mack scripts were only used on N's. Good Luck with the model. Doug
  2. Welcome to BMT, I am in Myerstown, very local to you. We have a very active ATCA chapter in the area and invite you to check us out. www.antiquetruckclub.org Congrats on the MC and the International, there are several very good shops in the area that can be of assistance. Welcome to the antique truck world. Doug
  3. I recently came across a Superliner with it, it rode pretty good. A friend with a Chevy Titan wanted to put it on his tandem Chevy Titan. He has installed it and claims that it has imporved the ride considerably. He purchased a brand new arrangement from the mfr. There was a man around Ephrata, PA that was making something similar that was found on alot of Marmons sold by Dutchman's back when they were around. That is my 2 pennies. Doug
  4. I was in the Mt. Cobb area last week, I hate to report this but, the Mack Homestead is gone. The house and greenhouse are history, the only thing that remains are the memories and the photos I posted in my gallery. when I popped up over the hill I couldn't believe it.
  5. The last of the Diamond Reos were being built at the Harrisburg location along rt 322 in 1997. The New Diamond T or Superior or what is now called the T-line was seperate from Diamond Reo at that time. These were the last of the Diamond Reo Trucks built. The hood and everything was their own design, the truck was not pieced together with other manufacturers parts.
  6. I'll call a friend tomorrow and let you know if he has any. The latest D-C is in the mail, this issue is a good read, and lots of it. The next issue will be even better. Check out the inside of the rear cover! Doug
  7. I may be mistaken but, I think the truck is owned by one of the members here on BMT. Let's see if he responds.
  8. There is no real website for the Mack Trucks Historical Museum, they are piggy-backed on Mack Trucks site. The website posted in the prior link is not for the Mack Museum. Your best bet is to contact them directly, The Mack Trucks Historical Museum Don Schumaker, Curator 997 Postal Road Allentown, PA 18103 Telephone: 610-266-6767 Fax: 610-266-6823 Doug
  9. I believe this was an "aftermarket" conversion, maybe an Orville conversion, I just saw a photo of another integral cab R in a magazine. I'll try to track it down and post it along with this post. Doug
  10. Hey Terry, I wondered when you would make it over here to BMT. I hope the holidays went well for you and yours! Doug
  11. There is one place that I know of that may be able to help with all of what you need. The Mahan Collection, owned by Gary Mahan in Basking Ridge, NJ. He has a huge collection of trucks as well as the restoration shop necessary to redo these old Macks to better than new.
  12. It looks as if you are off to a good start, a C-model with the Mack emblem still intact on the front. Welcome, Doug
  13. The MH certainly wasn't a flawless piece. The Maxiglass cab held up well, absolutely resisted corrosion but, it had it's share of electrical ground problems and probably the most detrimental was opinions on safety. The Maxiglass cab was a concern with drivers, it was thought of as being unsafe due to its "plastic" construction. Cabover drivers are the first ones to arrive at the scene of a crash, making some drivers uneasy. These were times before the Saturn car brand and all of the other plastic products were are forced to count on today. Cabovers were on the decline due to the relaxed overall length laws and aerodynamics becoming so important. The fall of the cabover could probably be the root of the MH's demise. The Mack or mutt drivetrain were the same as you could get in other Mack models, making the MH one of the best classic Macks to gather up. Doug
  14. The All-Mack Meet is held at Gerhart Equipment in Brunnerville, PA, near Lancaster. It is held on the same weekend as the Fall Carlisle. It is a great show that always has a good turnout. This year there was about 150 trucks, 95% Mack. Not to mention the yard full of old trucks & equipment, flea-market vendors and classic construction equipment running up on the hill. The Antique Truck Club of America National Meet is held every Fathers Day weekend in June. The dates for the 2009 show are June 19 & 20. There is always a large turnout of Mack Trucks, the show is held at Macungie Park near Allentown, PA. Over the past few years we have had about 600 trucks, 300 flea market vendor spaces and what is the "Greatest antique truck show in the world!" More information will be available soon in the ATCA magazine "Double Clutch" For more info check out www.antiquetruckclubofamerica.org
