  1. Hi Rob, I thought 93 was the first year, but could be the 2nd half of 92. If you get me the full VIN# I can probably get the OASIS report on it. I don't think it was till 1999 that they put intercoolers in them. However Banks performance makes a intercooler kit that will go in that. If the frame won't fold and you can fix the rot I'd go for it, assuming the price is right!
  2. I'm all Ford so I won't speak Chevy here however I have alot of knowledge on the Ford P/S. The best was the 7.3L, damn thing would burn was oil and not complain. There was a early one that had a M in the VIN#, that was a awsome engine. I forgot if Ford had their turbo on it or if they had their hand in it more. The downfall of these is the auto-trans. A good rebuild and overhaul will fix this. The 6.0L is horrable stock. The EGR is the main cause for all problems!!!! Example: The higher heat and soot causes dirtier oil and oil breakdown. Also the coolant needs to be clean, clean, clean. Dirty it will plug up the oil cooler and EGR cooler resulting in high heat, busted oil coolers and busted EGR coolers. The fix is delete the EGR and add a coolant filter. The auto-trans (TORQUESHIFT) in these are great though. The 6.4L is basically the same as the 6.0L with more coolers and a different turbo. I could write a book on this stuff, but if you have any questions let me know!! My take is: Find a 7.3L standard or auto trans. with upgrades and your Vanilla Gorilla will salute your feet!!!!
  3. I looked pretty good and they look more like illegals walking north!!!
  4. It's close to what I have, 64 b-67st. I paid $500. mine was in a little better shape though. I could use some parts off it like the air cleaner and fuel tanks. If you buy it I will buy or trade some parts with you!!!
  5. I don't know how other states play it, but this is what I was told when I bought mine. DO NOT TELL THEM IT IS A TRACTOR!!! There is not a fifth wheel on it, even if there is!!! It is a flat bed, dump truck, shit sucker, whatever. I don't have a title for mine and you will need one if it's a tractor. I have a ways to go before mine is ready for the road, but this is how I'm going to play it and my take on it.. There is no reason that it can't be reg. and ins. as a pickup!! On paper keep the GVW under 26,001 LBS. Don't pull anything over 10,000LBS. I'll reg. my truck for 14,000LBS. (weight of the truck plus some). Think about it, a pickup can carry just as much weight (depending on the size) and pull over 10,000LBS. You can also put a fifth wheel on a pickup and pull a 48FT camper. This is just my take on this and you should use should use examples like these and see how for it takes you!!!
  6. That's one of those rare options to clear manhole covers!!
  7. Wow, just reading this I hurt my neck and tweeked my back. I think I was in the truck with you and need some medical expenses paid!!!
  8. I guess RANDYP don't have nothing to say. Maybe he doesn't like it. Well I tried!!
  9. I have the results on that now, and we may not hear from you again. I have more pics. of it to post, I just need to figure out how to post more.
  10. Glad your back! I was starting to think Momma collected some death insurance.
  11. I see Randyp gave me a good reputation! So I went out and found some eye candy for him!!!!!!!! http://www.bigmacktr...097-old-grader/
  12. I hope this isn't a cover up for Momma! Last time we heard from him he was putting parts on her cutting board. Never know, that could have been the last draw!!!!!!!
  13. I saw a old donut under the seat that looks like that once!
  14. I was going to ask the same thing. I've been a little busy. Still don't have power, out since Sat. I've never had this much tree damage and loss of power for so long! In 4 days I've spent as much in fuel as a months worth of electric bill. As for Rob: He must of put something else on Mommas cutting board.
  15. I think I should put that in my b-67.
  16. My opinion on MPG...... I understand that some engine companies and truck companies go with smaller engines with the belief that they will get better MPG. One problem with this is the emissions regulations in place!!!!! The second is if you have to run a less hp engine wide open all the time it is just as bad for MPG as a bigger engine running with the pedal off the floor more often. I know the DEF system is a pain in the ass, but the emission standard is not going away. The current DPF uses extra diesel to clean out. GM is currently looking at running the DPF off electric instead of fuel. one thing that I would love to see is getting rid of the EGR systems on diesels. They create too much heat, extra cost, extra maintenance and extra soot and oil in the intake. It adds more soot and fuel in the engine oil resulting in oil breakdown. Why the hell would you induce dirty air into a clean air system? Why don't we remove the air filter and run the exhaust into the intake? The main cause for some of these emission issues is there is poor standard for diesel in the U.S. They keep cutting the PPM of sulfer (a lubricant) among other things. Now it has a shitty shelf life and destroys injectors and pumps. I lost 6 engines last year due to roller lifter failers. Causes are shit oil, long idle times, fuel and soot dillution in oil (from EGR and heat from EGR). The result was sever viscosity drop in oil from all above. I never cared for oil analisys until now. I was changing oil from 3000-5000 mi. It was recommended at 7500 mi. The result was change it at 3000 and get rid of shit oil. I tried a few oils even the high $ manufacture oil and I got my best result from Kendall SD-XA 15W-40 Synthetic blend. Very good stuff and cost less than Mobil Delvac, this is based on il analysis. That's my rant and my head hurts from trying to sound smart!!!
