  1. What did Mack use in the back of the cab on R models. My Superliner has the big diamond pleated back panel the surrounds the rear window and goes to the floor, but there is nothing between it and the back panel of the cab. Seems like a pretty big waste of space really.... should I just fill that area up with insulation? Did Mack have some sort of 'fitted' insulation panel that went there?

Secondly, what is the large metal kinda pyramid shape thing standing up there? It is welded in place near the rear cab mount and almost reaches the rear window opening? Does it serve some purpose? (sorry for no pic of it)

Let's hope that Donald learns from his mistakes and does better, many polls say he won, but I think he needs less knee jerk reaction and better control of  his comebacks, a little calmer and sharper comments would have been better to watch. And the fuel pump has been changed because a magnum engine came with a AFC fuel pump.some one has stole the pulse manifold and Holset turbo. And also i have never seen them come from cummins with the chrome.

Were there certain models that had factory chrome covers?

And yes, he said that the manifold/turbo were robbed.

That engine in the photo does not look like a magnum engine to me.A photo of the other side and numbers off the data plate who help but all magnum engine i was around had the steel oil pan with oil pump pickup tube at the front. And the oil pump will have a small oil line about six inches long connected to the oil pump to the oil galley of the engine behind the pump.

Like been stated the off set key was for timing the cam to the gear.Small cams as well as Big cams could use it.

There was nothing wrong with the 400 Mag, had two in two Stars. Ran right down the road with the BC's. Plus that engine in the photo has a plus, the Bendix air compressor.

The offset keys were nothing more than to advance or retard the cam timing.   Like said above it should have a steel pan for sure and BCIII oil pump.  That Data plate on the

accessory drive should say CPL 695 and the cam timing spec should say 56*. Plus the turbo should be the later Holset and it should have a pulse exhaust manifold on it.

The injectors on those engines flowed allot of fuel and if I remember right the pump rail pressure ran higher than BC's

    Truck Shop

    It does say 695.

Dodge (reliance electric company) plate sprocket, type A, sprocket #A1630, part # 103240.  This is a plate sprocket, stock bore 1 1/2" (reborable), 30 tooth, 2" pitch,  19.134" pitch diameter, weighs 90 pounds, 1.156" nominal thickness.  This is a standard item, would save you time (and probably money).  Boston Gear and Martin also make plate sprockets.  I have had them burned out with hi definition plasma and also laser during my career.

    This site is amazing.

What compressor is standard? And this does have the CPL 695.

Yes it is going to be a working triaxle dump. The price was right and I wanted a Superliner with a 12 speed and a V8. I looked at few dumps with aluminum rails and they actually seemed to hold up pretty good and there light wieghts were very low. I already have excepted the fact that eventually I will have to change the frame to new steel rails but until then I'm going to use these ones up. The rails are actually in very good shape on this truck. Also the work I'll be doing with it won't be hard on the truck at all. I'm doing the the way I want it I guess. All the triaxles  around here I looked at were too high priced and/or had bad frames and beat to hell.

    Thanks Josh:MackLogo:

Our milk hauler pulled in today with a new (to him) 2012 Mack triaxle.... the rails on my '80 Superliner Wa-a--aa-aa--a-y cleaner.
