    I think I had a 307 in my 70 Chevy pickup I bought the truck and the engine was done. I wound up putting a rebuilt long block in it. It was a target crate engine. I don’t think the 307 had that many miles on it, but it was smoking And pretty plumb wore out Bob

    And yes, Mecho I was one of the last ones I still do it once in a while but most of the time I flip the lights these days and I don’t even get a thank you so I pick and choose or ordinarily freight trucks UPS and cattle and hay drivers still have manners and they still talk on my CB… bob

    My God I’m so sorry to hear that but your stories are never boring Paul besides, it’s your tread you step all over it. It got me too thick. I have been pounding shit since I started in this racket at 20 years old thinking back I’ve done nothing but work work, I’ve always had lots of money in my pocket, but I sure had to work for it. 48 years of roadwork and too many hours it’s no wonder I’m sick to death of it and yes, I’ve seen people around me as you mentioned everything they touch turns to gold and by the way Paul you should be a writer ha ha thanks for all your stories and happy Saturday, two more weeks and I’m done … bob

Thanks for that and yes, again the older equipment was very noisy and the transmissions all howled my DM is very noisy on the highway, but yes, the new floors will definitely help out nowadays they have different insulation than they did originally…. They come with a real thick foam underneath now … bob

    one looks like fifth wheel slide or jaw release. I don’t think they had those yet. It’s probably fifth wheel slide or like Bob says airbag dump possible I’m thinking it’s too old for that too. I see you got all kinds of good old steel toggle switches. I drive a brand new Peterbilt pretty much everything on the dashboard is plastic….. bob

    Gotcha I heard Sacramento for one place is completely broke. Politicians are still praising their achievements Galvin Newsom nice job jackass. I’m surprised Reno is not busted since we have no political support here. Same old shit, no political representatives just stupid people sucking the system.

    Well, no progress this weekend. I don’t know. I didn’t feel like doing anything to it yesterday or today since we got back from that cruise…. I haven’t had any ambition But then again, I’m still doing these ball busting hours three more weeks and I’ll have a lot more time…. will go out and start it in a little while if I don’t do anything else, I start it every weekend… bob

    stock Matt’s are available they are pretty expensive most of us just go through Google search and find some floor matting that you like and cut your own pieces. The choice is yours good luck nice thing about changing the floor everything is rubber and it smells like a brand new truck when you get done ha ha… bob

    I think I might have been a little off just got a quote 60 more feet 4800 bucks and this hired hand is not exactly the best I could do I just have used him for lotsa yard service and I’m familiar with his work
