  1. Hey man, I feel your pain but maybe you should have bought a freight smacker! Mack just don't have the room for big guys. I had a buddy we called "BIG RED" he used to have a permanent mark in his shirt from the steering wheel, the seat only goes so far back.
  2. Subject: Never assume men understand A woman was in a coma and had been for months. Nurses were in her room giving her a bed bath. One of them was washing her private area and noticed that there was a slight response on the monitor whenever she touched her there. They tried it again and sure enough, there was definite movement. They went to her husband and explained what happened, telling him, "As crazy as this sounds, maybe a little 'oral sex' will do the trick & bring her out of the coma." The husband was skeptical, but they assured him that they would close the curtains for privacy. The husband finally agreed and went into his wife's room. After a few minutes the woman's monitor flat lined, no pulse, no heart rate. The nurses run back into the room. "What happened!?" they cried. The husband said, "I'm not sure: Maybe she choked."
  3. Saw a similar thing happen a couple years back up un RT 73 Maple Shade NJ. Only dump trailer was loaded with animal carcasses and all kinds of CRAP! Must have come from a slaughter house or something. A cube van stopped short to turn in the Cumberland Farms but the Big truck didn't!!! Man that stuff was all over the hiway, it was a nice hot, humid Jersey summer day. Gotta hand it to NJDOT they had to clean it up and then put sand down.
  4. That was awesome!!! Thought I was gonna have to pick the wife up off the floor!!
  5. I know what you mean Mark, I have a buddy who still drives for Waste Management. Once the largest buyer of Macks in North America now like you said a Bastard Fleet, Volvo, Petercar, Freightliner, Sterling. But I think oneday they too will realize nothing holds up like a Mack especially off-road like landfills!! Got a couple F models to look at but still getting CRAP from the Ol' lady!!!!!!
  6. I certainly understand your frustration, I had something similar happen some years ago at a Firestone Auto Center. I was still in the military and was actually TDY in Honduras when my wife was having car trouble. Long story short, that SOB had her running in circles and charged her more and more each time she came back in after being told the POS was fixed!! When I got back I paid him a visit, I was soooo! pissed I didn't bother to open the double glass doors, rather just kick the glass out of them!!!! Got everybody's attention real fast. They tried to get me to discuss it behind closed doors but I wanted everyone including customers to hear what I had to say. MAN I miss the GOOD OL' days.
  7. Hey Cliff I,m back from Oklahoma, (THANK GOD) I'm planning on taking a ride down your neck of the woods this saturday a.m. (2/12/11). I got to go see my buddy in Estell Manor, he's restoring a B-61. If you want I'll give you my # to call me so you can tell me how to get to you. Cel 609-929-8106 Thanks Bob
  8. Thank GOD I don't have to work in this anymore!!!!!! However I had to go to Mcallister OK for 2 weeks for an ARMY school. It only took me 4.5 hours to drive 120 miles to the airport in Tulsa on roads that made ICE ROAD TRUCKERS look like they were on bare asphalt. It seems that snow plows, salt, sand, and shovels are few and far between in Oklahoma!!!!!! Fact is Tulsa owns 2 snow plows, Mcallister owns none. To add insult to injury I had a rental car, a Nissan CUBE!!!!!!!!!! My golf cart has bigger tires and a softer suspension. Next time I go TDY it better be to Florida!!!!!!!!!.
  9. I wish you luck with her. I,m still looking around for one but I really don't have the right kind of facilities to work on one that needs a lot of work. I'll look forward to seeing your progress, she'll make a nice truck when your done. SOUTHBOUND
  10. I guess I jumped the gun and started asking questions before an introduction. My name is Bob, I'm 51,lived all my life in NJ, we have problems but(At least we don't have Volcanos)YET!! Lived and breathed trucks since about 5. Grew up on a farm in South Jersey and love being around trucks and tractors. Drove numerous trucks on the farm and after 12 years in the USAF drove tractor trailers for a handfull of regional carriers. After a back injury I moved into Tri-axle dumps and finally roll-off until my back sAID enough!!!! For the last 15 years they either call me SOUTHBOUND or FLASH! I prefer SOUTHBOUND. Sounds like a good buch out here so I'll be sure to ask questions as they arise. Oh yeah Computers aren't my specialty.
  11. Bare with me I'm still not sure how to use this DANG! forum thing. Waiting for one of my kids to come over oneday to show me! Anyway I gotta go to OK for couple weeks, when I get back I might take a sunday ride down your area. If I do I'll give you a shout to see if you'll be around. Thanks Bob
  12. Thanks John, I took a look at her but she's a little rougher than I want. I just gonna take my time and look around. If get out to some truck shows I'll probably get a lot of info from them. The wife's already goin"WHERE YOU GONNA PUT IT" Oh boy here we go!!!!!
  13. I can't beleive you know the Cairiones!! What a small world. Been to the "Block" a couple times with Donio and Presti Produce back in the day. I did a people finder thing and it showed 2 Cairiones in Malaga, one 58-59 the other 90! I wonder if that could be Matt? I figured he'd gone on to the big Hi-Way in the sky. Is Martinsville near Smith Mtn Lake? that's kinda the area we were thinking about retiring in. I feel your pain on the cheese steaks and tastykakes, that's how it was when I was in the USAF. I'm gonna see if I can figure out how to use this Forum thing better than I am. Computers aren't my specialty.
  14. Thanks for the invite, I want to get up to the Mack Museum oneday and any truck shows I can. That's a nice Mack you got there!
  15. Hey Mark, lucky you. I wanted to move to VA or NC but after giving up driving 3 years ago, due to back trouble I got a good job at McGuire AFB. I guess I'll stay here until I can retire then maybe head south. SOUTHBOUND was my handle and was on my R Model's bug shield so everyday when I walked up to my truck it reminded me of where I'd rather be. Oh well, I grew up in Hammonton on a farm and used to run produce up to Hunt's Point, and a couple other markets in PA and NY. I used to know a guy from Malaga, his name was Matt Cairone. He had a Brockway that he used to bachaul wood packing crates out of CT down to the farm. What a nice truck and man, I doubt if he still with us. I now live in Pemberton which is just outside of Ft. Dix. Even though I'm happy to have my job I still miss trucking and trucks. I have a buddy who lives in Estell Manor and he rebuilding a B-61 but last I heard he's "Taking a MONEY break" LOL. If you know any truck shows etc. that would be great! Thanks and have a great day. Bob
  16. Thanks for the feed back. I will check these out along with a couple local sightings. Where I am in NJ there are a lot of farms around and just like that show "Pickers" if you drive by slow and look in around the barns in the back you never know what you might find! I know of at least 2 fire companies in South Jersey that have F models to pull tanker trailers. I doubt if they'd wanna part with them. I'd like to find some truck shows in the NJ, PA, DE, MD area to at least see some even if I can't own one.
  17. I would like to know if you can find an F Model out there for a resonable price. I'm not looking for a complete rebuild but not a pristine show truck either. I no longer drive trucks, but if I could I would love to find an old F Model like I drove back on the farm in the 70's. I'm new to this site so I just thought I'd throw this out there. I have friends who are into the B Models and there seems to be a lot more of them out there.
  18. That is one sweet F model. I wish I could find one of my own but there doesn't seem to be too many around.
