  1. Thanks, I plan to get a pair of the bubble back mirrors in stainless. I'm not too worried about the small stuff but I do want to keep it as close to original I can. Especially when I go to buy new emblems or get these re-finished I might as well do it right.
  2. Does any body know the correct display of BullDog on a 1972 R-795ST with a Maxidyne? I know the hood is gold dog and chrome base but I'm not sure about the mirrors, the half dogs on the doors or the letters on the front and sides of the hood. Also the V-8 emblem?
  3. I got rear ended in 06, Woman in a jeep on the phone never hit the brakes. Cop said if she didn't have dual and side air bags she'd be dead. If it weren't for tha fact it was a diesel it would have been a total. It bent the frame on my 01 F250 and cost over 16K to repair. Had to put another frame under the truck. I got rid of it after that, it wasn't right. I always keep an eye in the rear view, cus these bastards are nuts. Bob
  4. I did something similar with one of Winzingers DM800, only I had a load of busted up concrete and forgot to open my tailgate when I went to dump it. It was only my second day on the job, I thought he'd fire me for sure!!
  5. Those are some awesome pics. I worked for Winzinger Const. for awhile and he had one about that big but I think it was a Trojan? That Oversize Load is a DOOZY! Some body had a good payday.
  6. Thanks, and I've been told that a lot lately, I can't figure out why?LOL. Bob
  7. Thanks, I thought Cliff said it was a Mushroom truck but maybe I was mixed up with the F model day cab he's got? He did replace the engine, he had some major issues with the one that was in it. I'm having fun with it and I think it's a good starter truck for me.
  8. COOL video! I like the full fenders on some of the trucks. My sons company actually custom makes those in diamond plate aluminimum or stainless steel. I think I know what I want for fathers day!! My wife says she's gettin me an air seat, maybe 2 since she's not likin the passenger seat too much.
  9. Mark I think Cliff said it used to be a Mushroom Trans. truck. She ain't a show stopper but I'm as happy as a pig in shit!! All my friends and neighbors think I'm going back on the road, I said no this is just for fun! Some people collect Hummel figurines I collect Macks.
  10. It started with a search for an F model and ended with an R-700. That's fine by me, I love all Macks. Now I have somethoing to work on and who knows where it will go from here. Thanks Cliff for all your help, I wasn't home 10 minutes and my faithful side kick (Baxter) my Boston terrier jumped up in the cab and parked himself on the passenger seat. He must have stayed there at least 1 1/2 hours while I was talking to the neighbors.
  11. That is NUTS! My son's a big motorcycle guy so i had to send it his way.
  12. Welcome aboard, I'm pretty new myself but one thing I found out right away is that there are a lot of experienced guys out here and if you ask chances are pretty good you'll get an answer that will help. As for me I'm not from the mechanic side of the house so I won't be much good to you. Bob
  13. That's just it, in the pics it looks good or else I woulndn,t go all the way up there to look at it. The chassis, eng, trans all in very good shape. The cabis restorable but not with the limited assets I have and to pay someone would put me in the poor house!! Under side has some seriuos rust, a lot of the welding done was of the amature nature, you can't weld to rust. The passenger side probably the worst, the front windshield pillar (I believe is all bondo), the top of cab and gutter line have some major issues. Most of the work done so far has not been done right. I don't want to sound like I'm bad mouthing this truck, it's just that I've done a lot of welding and fabricating along with my son who is a welder/fabricator by trade and I know what it would take to make it right but that's more than I'm looking for. Bob
  14. That's not fair, now you have 2 and I don't have any!! I went up to Cairo NY last weekend to look at the 71 F785ST but too much work for me. Well good luck with your addition and maybe oneday I'll stop in to see you.
  15. Mr L Diddy, Welcome. I have personally seen a B model Quad cab customization just this past weekend. Mr. Dennis Meehan of "OLDMACKS.COM" has a beautiful example in his garage in Cairo NY. I think he would be more than happy to share his expertise on how he went about his transformation. He is an extremely knowledgable Mack expert, if he can't help you I don't know who can.
