  1. Yeah, now I see the colors, Preston it is...Thurstan was black and red I believe, Nice looking truck
  2. Got a few good pics, I'll upload them today...all I have to say is man oh man what a rough trip! I dont have a chugger position on my seat, so my back is KILLING ME! All in all the truck made it no problem, I did have to replace an air can in Virginia but that was no big deal, no oil loss, no leaks, just lotsa LOTSA BUMPS! I-40 going thru Arkansas and Oklahoma was a killer, the expansion joints on the road pounded the truck (and its owner) like a rag doll! Pics to follow soon, got a few good ones we took on Route 66 in Arizona, beautiful weather out here, the old girl is gonna love it. I will say this, I pity the people behind me as I pull my first 20 ton load up our mountain pass, 2nd gear at maybe 7 miles an hour LOL!
  3. Well, we made it! 2800 and change at 54 miles an hour, NY to NV in the old DM600 (58's a 300 and a 6 speed) now to find a good chiropractor!!!!
  4. Cat with a cummins engine go fiqure..........
  5. I love the kysor roof tops, I have 2 NOS brandy new units in storage...cant wait to hook them up one of these days, they are 13500 BTU'S enough to cool a living room. They will freeze you out, and yes stiff necks and ear aches are the only downfall, but no sweat! Work best when filled with R-12, but 134A will do the trick
  6. 2800 miles, a DM600 with 58 rears, a skidsteer in the dump body and the black lab ridin shotgun...should be interesting! Let me add the truck only does about 54 miles an hour
  7. Could have been a lot worse, that rear should be fairly cheap to get rebuilt. Good looking truck though
  8. Backwards windshield wipers! Had an LTL9000 a few years back, cool truck. I like the 3 spoke steering wheels Ford used...looked like a race truck lol. Sterling IMHO is junk, they should have kept the old cab design. One of my favorite movies as a kid was Armed and Dangerous with John Candy when they plowed thru the traffic with the old Ford 9000 cab over. Driving one of the cab overs always felt weird due to the air ride set up they used...but still a cool truck, not many around any more.
  9. Rain, RAIN....and more R A I N! Good though, we need all the salt washed off the roads...my trucks dont like the salt!!!

  10. If you cant afford the down time, or afford to fix the truck the right way maybe you should just pull the plates off it and forget about being an owner operator, and just go drive for someone. I mean really guys your talking about a Jersey 10 wheeler running 20 plus ton with a chassis thats ready to split in half at any time...fish plates, nuts and bolts, jerry rigged weld jobs =an accident waiting to happen. Someones wife and kids could be next to this truck as it fails going down the road. I for one think this truck needs to be put out of service, and the owner should be fined to the max for running it in this condition, I'm sorry if this is offensive but the guy is running the truck knowing its breaking in half. The only good thing I have going is that when I have a load on, when the lift axle is down, it is actually supporting that cracked area as the bracket for it is almost dead center of the crack. My only problem is trying to keep the truck from bouncing around when I get to the dump site loaded where I cant have the lift axle down....Tell that to the accident victims family when they ask why did this have to happen. I'm done, SORRY GUYS BUT I HAD TO SPEAK MY MIND -Sean J. Kelly *Owner Operator*
  11. Manse in Pahrump Nevada used to make mini's, he really did nice work until he sold his land and got out of the hobby all together
  12. Let me know how ya make out, I'm curious! Its in my engine
  13. My cousin...turns out he has been running Lucas since the the stuff came out, in Macks old and new, Cats and Cummins, I asked his advice and he looked at me like I had 4 heads...I mean how was I supposed to know he runs it! Anyways, I really dont think it will do anything more than just add a few PSI to the oil pressure and yes prevent dry starts. We'll see...at 29 bucks a gallon I think it might be a short lived experience. The stuff is like heavy gear oil, 100% petroleum no teflon etc etc.
  14. Well, its in there! 1 gallon of the stuff, I just did an oil change today and put it in...engine was tight, but had minor blow by...lets see how it works!!!
  15. I just heard stories of the oil foaming when the additive was added, just what any engine wants, air bubbles running thru the crank journals. I think I might try some in my gearboxes but might leave well enough alone with the engines!
  16. Pass seat longer than normal? I've seen a few almost like a half bench seat with the space under the cushion...nice for storage
  17. I was under the impression anything E-9 was getting tough to find, how many engines I've passed up...now I'm kicking myself. I always thought of them as boat anchors, I was raised an inline man, but when they run I gotta say they run, I've taken a licking to the sound of the Mack V8's...
  18. Is that the seat that loks like it has an air can on the bottom? My uncle has that seat in an ol KW he has, never sat in it...looked comfy though

  20. Loved the Rosanne Barr super bowl commercial

  21. That only works until she takes out the trash and see's the "butter knife" flathead sticking out of the hefty bag...then your in deep, well you know LOL
  22. I like the old style logo, used to love the white mud flaps with that logo on them...seats look great, low back is the way to go. I thought the black interior parts were getting hard to find? I tried to order a black headliner...no dice so I went with the gray, those seats would look sharp in that Value Liner!
