  1. When installing my new seal, do I just stick it on dry or do i need to lube it?
  2. I failed. Couldn't get the old seal out, whats the best way? Try to pry it out, knock the inner bearing out with it? Not too sure what to do when I get to it.
  3. Cool, I already pulled my outer seal to check I had the socket for the bearing nut. Thanks again
  4. Yeah, they're soaked bad. Thanks for the response and advise on the bearing, wouldn't have thought of that until Mack closes for the night. What would you guess on parts price? Money is a pretty tight as we are just getting stated.
  5. Hello. I was checking my truck and saw oil on my front axle shoes and drums. Checked my hub oil level, which is down. So I figure its an inner wheel seal. Just wanted to know if this is a project one can do in a 12 hour window before the truck goes on another trip. Also do I need to take all the brakes apart or will I be lucky by only sliding the drum off? Truck is equipped with ABS. Are any pullers or special tools required? Thanks.
  6. Nice trucks, This was my pride and joy when I was younger. And this one, same time frame, but still own it and doing a restoration on it. When done it will be a crewcab longbed 4x4. possibly diesel. Try to ignore my belly hanging out, exited to win 2nd place for the 1/2 ton class at a local truck show. My current Mack: My old truck to the right.
  7. What Pier? I'm running APM and Norfolk International Terminal almost daily in the Norfolk, VA area.
  8. I have an oil leak from between the motor and the bell housing on the passenger side. Doesn't appear to be valve cover gaskets bad. I know I need a better look but what might I be dealing with? This is on my 1999 CH613 355/380 motor with spicer 10 speed.
  9. Thats all my 1994 had, I thought that was factory..
  10. I saw one of the new coke Macks on route 95 near the NC / VA state lines.
  11. Ebay, and Hampton Roads VA craigslist has one
  12. If I let my truck idle for about 5-10 minutes, it shuts the engine off. Can i turn it off completely or prolong it?
  13. 1994 CH613. Sold the truck couple of weeks ago but plan on painting my 1999 the same way.
  14. My 1999 Mack CH613
  15. I ran without the ac for the last couple days because it was low on freon. Confirmed by my brother-in-law this morning. I don't think its ac related.
  16. I'm only getting 3-4 volts at the air / electric valve. For now I made a by pass from the battery, to a dash switch, to the fan clutch to manually control it. I only needed it twice last 7 hour run.
  17. I checked the fuses, no luck, checked the override switch, no luck, no power at the air to electric valve on the side of the radiator. owner before me has wires all over the place too.... help asap would be greatly appreciated as I'm driving a 7 hour run tomorrow. update: Fan clutch is operational if you unplug the air line going from the valve to the clutch, it stops turning. So Good Fuse, Good Clutch, Where should I be looking next? Thanks
  18. Selling my 1994 Mack CH613. Truck has 900,000 miles on it, 350 hp, 9 spd, mack (hendrickson) air-ride rears, bud wheels, flat top sleeper. Tires and brakes are near 80-90% or better. Truck runs and drives, but needs a new clutch, exhaust, and batteries to be road worthy again. Moderate/heavy rust under the sleeper. Selling the truck as-is for $7,000 OBO. call or text 757-284-5306, Truck is located in Chesapeake, VA near the Norfolk area.
  19. The fan clutch is the newer style that is air/electric with two wire connected to the air control valve by the radiator. I can see where someone spliced a new connector on, but they aren't together. Will check to see if it turns by hand when cold. I'm going to replace the fuse/breaker next time I see it to find out. Hopefully Monday I will find out if I qualified to work there from their headquarters in SC. Should since the application went to headquarters. For the fuel gauge I'm going to steal the one off my current '94 mack and see if that does it. Probably selling the '94.
  20. I'm buying a 1999 Mack CH613 as a lease purchase. Great company, my dad drove for the almost a decade with never one complaint. Its a nice truck, $16,000 with $2,000 down, $300 per week, 70" mid-roof sleeper, cold ac, 10 spd, in-frame over haul 200,000 miles ago, everything on the chassis is new. But the're two issues I'm wondering about, the fuel gauge doesn't work and the engine fan is always on. If the fuse is good, what are some things to check? Thanks
  21. Yup, thats what happened. Thanks for the help everyone.
