  1. your front rotors are warpt you need them resufaced or replaced you may need pads replaced get them checked out asap
  2. Some have replaced the clutch springs for stiffer ones, but I'm not sure if anyone has also replaced the clutch plates.
  3. Nice Reo. I just picked up a '74 Diamond Reo Dump. That truck is a work and runs with the best of them!
  4. sounds like a crank angle timing sensor, possibily a coil. im guessing you have changed the fuel filter? other thing to mind would be the catalytic converter.
  5. First, never push the Schrader valve and let fuel squirt out. It's at 30-50psi and fuel flying everywhere around an ignition source is a very dangerous situation. If you want to check your fuel pressure, auto parts stores have free loaner tools that you can check out and return. Second, it sounds like you could have a vacuum leak. I'd suggest going over each vacuum line and connection and looking for any cracks or areas that look dried out.
  6. Should be able to find them in your local wrecking yard. Last resort would be the dealer.
  7. If you get the OEM kit, it comes with a switch that mounts on the dash. It goes in one of the holes down and to the left from your steering wheel. There should be one or two little blank covers down there and the connector for the switch is hanging on the back of one of them. The kit also comes with instructions. Hope that helps.
  8. Go to the library and look in Chiltons Auto Repair manual. Xerox the diagram.
  9. A lopey cam is that which seems like it about to die and is common to hot rods. To run this cam you must have higher compression above 9:1. You wont be able to get everything from what you want. The vacuum they speak of is efficiency of cam to produce vacuum in the intake plenum. The lack of vacuum is due to the lope of the cam and it causes sensors to not be able to provide correct fuel and also all your power brakes wont work properly.
  10. Mack Pinnacle DayCab is rugged warrior deliver a high level of productivity. Has two-line PTO wet line kit, polished aluminum headache rack and saddle boxes! Super low mileage!
  11. Changing wheel bearings is a do-it-yourself job if you have a torque wrench. Although, Some bearing replacements require a Hydraulic press.
  12. i buy used mack truck for my haulage business in africa, i am new in the business i need advise on what to inspect before buying a used mack truck(99 model to 2002 model) and what are the day to day maintenance.
  13. You'll have to look close to see it but patterns are in site below. Some patterns have the top gear as up (towards dash) on long haul trucks so passenger/co driver can get into sleeper with out moving shifter. Source(s): http://www.bigrigchromeshop.com/Merchant…
  14. you will be losing a slight amount of power as the gas flow is not stable.
  15. well one hopes the transmission fluid would be in the tranny. seriously though if its an automatic (I can't remember if manuals have a dipstick) there should be a dipstick accessible from the engine compartment. Look for a yellow or red ring handle near the engine similar to the one for your oil dipstick. Your owners manual should have a diagram of exactly where things are at and the proper method to check fluids and refill them.
  16. What is more economical, convector heater/oil-filled heater/solid fuel heating?
  17. You have a vacuum leak inside your brake booster/servo...
  18. Have they statred making large trucks like Kenworth, Mack, and Peterbilt equipped with automatic transmissions?
  19. that sound is the turbo spinning at insane speeds, some turbos can reach 100,000 rpms. and yes turbos do whistle. It is when they don't that you know they are bad.
  20. Does it pay to re-torque the head bolts. I guess what I'd do is slightly loosen each head bolt, then torque it to spec. Thoughts?
  21. It looks like the illegitimate love child of a Diesel locomotive and a PT Cruiser. Based on our motor coach with a 525 HP engine, that top speed is probably limited by gearing or governor.
  22. Nissan Diesel America is completely revamping its UD Truck line for 2005. The manufacturer is dropping its 12,000-lb GVWR UD 1200 chassis and replacing it with a 13,000-lb GVWR UD 1300 model. The UD 1800 CS (City Spec) will undergo several changes, the most significant of which is a larger cab. The 1800 CS will be spec'd with the same cab used on Nissan's UD 1800 HD (Heavy Duty) model, giving it more side-to-side room so that three people can fit more comfortably. The larger cab also increases the truck's forward visibility, expanding its windshield size from 1,900 sq. in. to 2,465 sq. in. Engines for all of Nissan's UD trucks are going to change as well. Units will have either the new four-cylinder MD 175 or the six-cylinder MD 230 diesel powerplants. The MD 175, standard on UD 1300, 1400, and 1800 CS models, offers 175 hp and 347 lb-ft of torque. The MD 230, standard on the 1800 HD through the 3300 HD chassis, offers 230 hp and 506 lb-ft of torque. Other changes include an automatic Aisin transmission, which is standard on the 1300 and 1400 models. Factory-installed air conditioning will be standard on all UD trucks. Finally, a standard air-ride driver's seat will be offered on the UD 1800 HD chassis and above.
