  1. You can use the impact wrench, just have to use a little common sense with it!
  2. See if a Mack Dealer can/will give you the warranty repair history on the truck. Typical issues would include turbo failures, cam failures, and exhaust leaks. At 875,ooo miles I would be looking at least at some EUP (unit pump) replacements if they haven't been done lately.
  3. I get it now, this is kind of like wheres Waldo. Daingerfield Texas. The answer is Dangerfield Texas. Did I win? Only Oil Baron Randy can say!
  4. Man, kids say the darndest things! Who sang that?

    Bats

Here's some information that might be useful if you don't already know it. This is very timely, the latest newsletter from The Texas Gardener' Seeds said: Put up a bat house to encourage the presence of these shy animals. Bats consume 3,000 or more mosquitoes and other insects nightly, and bats are less likely to be rabid than dogs are. Need another reason? Bats are responsible for up to 95 percent of the seed dispersal essential to the regeneration of forests. Our planet is populated with plenty of bizarre and astonishing creatures. Here are three from the Bat Family ..... without the need for resorting to fiction. The Sucker Footed Bat The Red Winged Fruit Bat The Left Winged Dingbat
  8. Is that a framed picture of Burt Reynolds sitting in front of the car, or is it more from the series of photos that this came from?
  9. I've got Vista too. The closest I could get was up to the sidewalk.
  10. I went to Google Maps street view of the Mack Trucks World Headquarters building in Allentown. The address is 2110 Mack Blvd, Allentown PA. There's a gray CHN parked just behind the gold bulldog in the driveway that kind of looks like your truck.
  11. Sounds like he had a case of buyer's remorse!
  12. I tried to bring it up but I can't pull it up with my meager resources. I'll see if I can find out what it had Monday.
  13. Here's a press release regarding the D13 engine: http://www.prevostcar.com/cgi-bin/pages.cgi?page=media&newsid=1270673937
  14. You are not checking the high pressure fuel coming out of the pump going to the injectors here, you're checking fuel supply pressure to the pump. If it is low there may be a problem with the tranfer pump, restricted lines, or something else. Be careful with adjusting pump timing. I've seen guys that "knew" what they were doing that wrecked brand new reman engines (1 hour total run time) and turned the pistons in another one into the liquid type. These were out of time by quite a lot, in the case of the reman engine about 45 degrees, FJH is probably right with as far as you could safely go, but I wouldn't go too much past the factory spec. Check the tag on the pump and see what it says as far as timing. How exactly are you checking the pump to engine timing?
  15. (copied my post from "Power Divider") The wedges should only be replaced as sets along with the inner cam. Wedges were available as a matched set w/o cage. I think the part number for a CRDPC92 rear end is 30KN112, that part number has likely changed, but I think the wedge set is still available.

  17. Actually, I think the corporate strategy may have changed a bit. We're now also supplying BP with the "composite aggregate materials" that will be used to "synthesize an engineered compound" for plugging the well, Randy is personally overseeing the "mineral and element extraction and relocation" phase of the project. Of course you know, this is highly confidential information that must never be leaked to the public.
  18. From the Mack service manual 13-105: "The frictional forces created by loads imposed on the cams and wedges cause moderate scoring on the highly stressed rubbing surfaces of cam tracks. This is a normal condition. Replace the affected cam and wedge items only if working surfaces are badly worn, pitted, scored or cracked. Replace the driving cage member if it is damaged or the wedge hole diameter has worn more than 0.010 inch (0.25 mm) over the original limit. Never run new wedges against a used inner cam or vice versa. It is permissible, however, to use slightly worn outer cams and driving cages during rebuild. Always replace wedges in matched sets. Do not mix wedges from different sets."
  19. Hey Randy, did you order a real air conditioner yet?
  20. Look at Mack's website, under "MackShop", cold weather wear, last item on the page, or use the link: https://www.mack-shop.com/mti/VALUE/items.asp?Cc=09%2D07&Bc=
  21. Just got the parts in, currently beta testing the A/c unit...
  22. He was on vacation, but I think he's real busy. Maybe he's installing the A/C on the excavator.
  23. Tap a pressure gauge, line, and "T" into the line going from the secondary filter back into the pump.
  24. Is it me or do those pants he's wearing looking really shiny?
